Replacing washer underneath glass jug Waring pro blender PB20CXU

The rubber seal (washer) underneath the jug broke. I managed to find a replacement but I do not know how to take the drive coupling off (under the jug) to put the washer on. Any help would be appreciated!

SOURCE: Waring blender - new blade

I just figured it out. The key is you need to think in terms of keeping the blades and the large washers separate. Here's what you do.
Thread the blade through the glass and use the white rubber gaskets against the glass and the stainless gaskets against the hardware. Then tighten the whole enchilada to the blender with the main nut (that goes on the bottom outside of the blender). Then once that's nice and tight tighten the flange that catches the blender teeth to the remaining portion of the protruding threads. Make sure you use the copper colored gasket first then the stainless washer then the stainless flange. Tighten that real good and you should be good to go.
To check if you've done it right spin the flange. If the blades spin independent of everything else you're good to blend away!

I have an older Waring blender, model WF1112218. My problem is I took it apart to clean it and now can't figure out how it goes back together. Is it rubber gasket then rotor or the other way around?

Hello, Carla -

For all electric blenders the rubber gasket is placed between the glass or plastic blender container and the rotor with the blades.

The assembly is easy to recall when one realizes the rubber gasket is the seal for keeping liquids leaking out of the blender.

See the image here (it's for a Black and Decker, but the assembly is the same):

The image here shows the assembly for a Waring blender (different model than yours):

I need a replacement washer for Waring 1 L blender. The washer sits between the outer lip of blade unit and bottom rim of jug. Outer diameter 75 mm, inner diameter 55 mm. Can you help? Thanks, Denise...

Try taking the washer to a local hardware store, They should be able to find a replacement. (Normally the smaller stores have a better selection of the single washers than the big box stores) Also there's a company called MSC that has just about every washer imaginable, however you'll pay more for shipping than what its worth.

My blender appears to be leaking from the bottom. Is it likely to be the jug or the coupling to the motor?

It is likely to be the rubber washer on the jug. You will need to disassemble the mixing blades and remove the rubber washer(s) from the jug and take it with you to a Target, Walmart or kitchen store. They usually carry a varity of the washers and you should be able to compare yours to get the right size. Some actually tell you exactly what mixers they fit.

Hi I've got an old Waring 38BL31 which is leaking underneath - looks like it might be a washer problem, but I can't unscrew the blade - anyone know what the trick is - or anywhere that repairs these?...

Hi!! It sounds like the rubber seal is busted, there is not real trick to removing the blade assembly. It will be easier if you have a belt wrench, it looks like the oil filter wrench but with a wide rubber belt instead. Available at most auto parts stores. If not available, just have to apply enough force to unscrew it. Having a friend will help, one holds, one twists. It unscrews counterclockwise.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!

Broken glass jug on kitchenaid blender model 5ksb2aer4

Look at the underside of the blade shaft. The metal wing nut on the end of the shaft secures the blade assembly to cream coloured plastic blade base. The wing nut also transmits the drive from the rubber coupling on your blender to the blade shaft. The wing nut has a LEFT HAND thread.
The left hand thread ensures the blade assembly does not unscrew during normal blender use.

Firstly disassemble the blender blade assembly. Place a folded tea towel over the blades and hold the blades firmly. If you do not use a tea towel you may cut yourself.

Grip the wing nut with your other hand and unscrew it CLOCKWISE.
Remove the wing nut. You can now remove the blade from the plastic base.

Put the blade assembly in the new jug and offer up the plastic base from under the jug so that the blade shaft protudes enough for you to install the wing nut.

Screw the wing nut ANTI-CLOCKWISE to secure the blades to the plastic base.

Do not over tighten the wing nut; you may have to replace your jug again at some point.
