Question about Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer
I installed everything correctly, it was printing perfectly for a few weeks and now it just won't print. It says that it is currently 'printing' on my computer, but it just never starts. My connection is fine and I am not out of ink. Please help?
Make sure your print queue is empty. Try restarting the print spooler by doing this: Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Expand Services and Applications, then click on Services. On the right side, find Print Spooler, right click on it and select Restart. That will clear any pending document stuck in the queue. Also make sure you have the latest driver for the printer, and that you are printing using the right port (look on the printer properties on the Printers folder).

If everything at the printer looks fine (test prints, and no errors on the display) I would de-install and reinstall the software. The DE-install is important, DO NOT just reinstall over the top of the current installation. Also I would reboot after I removed the software and BEFORE I reinstall it. It might be overkill but it won't hurt to be through.
