if the specification of the FX 5200, say that Video board support only x8, and the PC chips board say 1x;2x,4x. this means that FX5200 does not will be supported?.

    best regards.

I want to upgrade the current video card (NVidia RIVA TNT2 model 64) to a faster card. So I, like Javit0 am wondering what the safest options are for the same motherboard.

FOR YOUR MOTHERBOARD , ITS BETTER TRY NVIDIA GEFORCE CARDS LIKE GEFORCE MX4000 , FX 5200 , 5500 , 6300 BUT DONT USE SLI CARDS , THEN ABOUT YOUR ASUS RADEON ITS ADVICED THAT ASUS RADEON 9200 WILL WORK BETTER WITH INTEL MOTHERBOARDS

  • Anonymous Aug 25, 2007

Please dont use fx 5200 8x card in backward slots like 2x and 4x , it will lead to over hyped graphics load it may cause damage to the whole graphic system in your motherboard , please use 2x or 4x cards for your slot , 8x is latest it comes with 8 engines it transfers 4gb/sec but 2x or 4x will be lesser like 2gb/sec

What cheap but good video card should i get to run modern warfare 2 on my dell desktop computer

Hello,

From what I can determine, for you to have the permornace you need for Modern Warfare 2, the following are the recommended computer requirements:

A CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better, RAM: 1 GB on XP / 2 GB on Vista and Windows 7 and a
GeForce 9500 GT 1GB memory Graphics board. (this is a PCI Express slot board).

Make sure your Dell has the slot required for the graphics board, if no slot then there is an AGP board, but with 512MB memory that would work good.

Either graphice baord would cost about them same
Recommend, EVGA @ Negeeg.com or Tiger Direct.

Good Luck

I would like to buy a video card that is compatible with this board, what do you recommend?

it's pretty difficult to find a good video card (as you say) because it is on agp. a good option would be a nvidia 6600. it also depends on how much money you want to spend and what do you use it for.

here is a link with several agp video cards:
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=318&name=AGP%20Video%20Cards

from the ones that are listed in the link above i would recommend you:
    BFG GeForce 7300 GT / 512MB DDR2 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / HDTV / Video Card
it has a good price (in my opinion), it is compatible with you mother board and has good performance

    I hope this helps

    Adding a separate video card...

When you boot up the pc pressing either 'DEL' or 'F2' gets you into the bios menu. Look for something similar to 'PNP/PCI'configuration, then press enter and ensure the main graphics aperture is set to your 'AGP' port and not 'ONBOARD' or 'PCI'. I can assume you have installed the 'AGP' driver from your motherboard installation disc, and the diver for your graphics card. Lastly some AGP cards are not compatible with all boards, due to in some cases different voltage ratings.
