Bought new 4gb memory card for my hp photosmart m525 when I turn it on it say's card has wrong format, press ok to format card. When I press ok it say's uable to format.
If there is a little slide on the side of the card try moving it to its other position either up or down
have you been able to connect it to computer
first trurn the slide back to its origanal position.
do you have a card reader ?
if you do insert the card into this.
if not use the usb conection you got with the camera
right it should pop up on the comp as either a removable drive or if it connected trough usb the camera.
by the way which did you connect it by

ok go to my computer and see what drives are there if theres a removable disk or one under the name of the camera select it
the things on it are they word documents or other computer documents
that is probally your problem there is a differant format for those kind of files and the what a camera uses you will have to remove those files from the card and then try the format again while the cameras not connect to the pc
on the card or on the pc
did you try moving the files and reformating the card in the camera
if you have disconnected the camera from the pc and formated try just taking a picture. just move whatever files are on the card of it first
