Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television
Replace both convergence IC's part# STK392-040. Also check for burnt/discolored resistors nearby.

If the convergence IC's heatsink is cold to the touch, you need to check the two 5A micro fuses which supply the +30 and -30 volts to the convergence IC's (they are soldered in small fuses hard to find but look for them right under the heatsinks of the STK's) When the IC's shorted out they opened the fuses protecting the resistors.

Replace both IC's STK392-040 made absolutely no difference to convergence problem ie the blue is offset to the right (unable to adjust) and the green curved towrads the center of the screen (pin cushion). SOmething else the STKs like that drives it?
Resistances on board associated with the STKs looks OK and checked OK by comparison in-circuit ohms check. Resistances were checked while the STKs were off the circuit board.
I believe I have a convergence problem too. No pictures occur. shadowy lines (red, green and blue) bow towards the center of the screen.
Please HELP.
Samsung HCL4715W 47 in. Rear Projection Television.
I have the same convergence problem where the red seems ok and the blue and green bow down towards the center. Will replacing the entire board solve the problem?
