Question about Toshiba CF35F50 TV

1 Answer

Picture problem The TV makes a popping sound and I lose the picture intermittently and sometimes lose the picture all together. When I wiggle the coaxial cable in the back, the picture will eventually stop popping. This has been an issue for at least 6 months now and it seems to be getting worse. Most of the issue is when the TV is 1st turned on...once it warms up it seems to perform better. The TV is about 9 years old. Should I get it looked at or I am better off buying a new one?

TV intermittently does not display picture. Back-light and audio are OK.

if reseating connectors and ribbons (assuming you've cracked the case open yourself and gotten your hands dirty...or atleast scratched up lol) then I would have to say it sounds like an issue with the logic board or maybe a particular component overheating? it sounds tedious but grab yourself a magnifying glass and look at your individual capacitors and resistors for any physical damage especially what I call, "bursting....." where it looks like they're puffed up and popped from the inside.. sometimes a capacitor will blow and not completely lose it's top so it works intermittently the same with resistors in my experience.... hope this helps.

42'' lcd turns on no picture/menu

Your tv is being attacked by electrical surges which seem very violent and has already damaged some logic controls. Please invest in a AC filter which will protect your tv from such spikes....... but first you need to get your tv serviced from the electrical damaged it has already suffered.

Picture Flickering

The sony tuners have been known to get intermittent, it might be a bad ground where the tuner connects to the main chasis, If the problem is in the tuner itself it will be most difficult to resolve since the connections are so small and compacted together.
Good luck

Fisher tv monitor intermittently turns to snow and loud buzzing

Could it be vertical IC loose connection. It is sometimes connected with correct tuning. Check it for crack or wiggling connection best is to resolder.

42" RCA Projection TV - Sound good, but Picture goes out intermittently.

resolder the vertical output IC . bad solder there can make the CRTs blank for protection and you will lose the picture when the vertical drops out.
