Purchased canon dc 20 in alan trading singapore on 28-05-06 i am from bangalore was given international warranty problem is witin minutes of recording camcorder displays avoid moving camcorder stop recording and in playback mode horzintal lines appear in the view screen. reported to canon service centre advised to show in bangalore canon service centre but not solved in bangalore sent to delhi service centre got an estimate of 600sgd

hi, i dont think so usely it as to be made by the camera,normally when you finish recording
you press pause and then stop and let it go for few minutes and the camera should finilize
the disk by chapter,then eject.
I've got the same problem, also with a brand-new Canon Legria FS 20. As Canon told me, I took it to a Canon office to be repaired. It was repaired. I tried filming and it worked. Then I tried to view this film and I got the same error message again: cannot access internal memory. I also can't film anymore now. I'll call Canon now and ask them what to do. Repairing didn't help, I want a new cam, but I'm not sure the FS 20 is a good choice. There seems to be a problem with it.
It simply means that you are going to enjoy all warranties facilities only in national boundaries of your purchase. Even if Lenovo is an international company, it won't offer you worldwide warranty until you will register yourself for International warranty.

our MV800 was doing the the same so i
"accidentally" dropped it (i got a bit frustrated and it was out of
warranty) and now it works fine. please note it dropped about half a
meter on carpeted floor while it was off.

What is the estimated purchase date of the camcorder? If it is still under warranty the repair will most likely not cost you anything.
yes - your warranty will be voided and cost of
parts can be unreasonably high , but if your
' do not shake ' display came on repeatedly ?
the door switch may have gone out of alignment
during a fall : the canon service manual is
available only to authorized servicers so a
set of quality jeweler ' s screwdrivers would
be needed to . . . void the warranty some more
but let you open the cabinets to get at the
release mechanism ;
I have had the same problem since I purchased mine 4 years ago and it has been repaired 3x and is in the shop for a 4th. I had the extended warranty and Futureshop refuses to acknowledge that it is a Lemon and should be replaced as they don't consider resoldering wires as a "repair". My unit has been in the service center a total of 12 weeks over the 4 years. The service center recommends Sony Camcorders and the Claim center said they get few Sony camcorders so I would say the Canon problem is an issue that is common. Sorry to say.
