U-Line no longer cooling

Have a u-line 2075WC wine storage unit that is no longer cooling. Don't hear the compressor making any noise nor fan turning on. The light in the unit does work. Any ideas on what to start with? Thx

Purchsed 2075 WC April, 2004. Worked perfectly until two weeks ago. (Jan. 2008). Now it stops operating. When I turn the 'off-on' dial to 'off'' with a little more pressure beyond the 'off' 'click', and turn the dial back to 'on', it starts operating again. I can hear the motor and feel the exhaust. But the, in a few hours it shuts down again. Solution please? Is this covered by warranty? Respomse to roxy 22 indicates a by-pass possible. What are the details of doing this. Thanks.

Most definitely the thermostat happened to me 2 each time at about 3 years--U-line is no help and their approved vendors will stick it to you --they wanted $450.00 for the fix

This sounds like the thermostat is the problem. I wouldsuggest touching the compressor at the back of the unit to see if it is hot or cold. If it is hot then you have probably have power down to the compressor, if it is cold you could (if capable) bypass the thermostat to see if it kicks in. Hope this helps.

Avanti wc1500dss wine chiller not getting cold but does the opposite gets hot

The above has a troubleshooting matrix.

Power supply: Check if the wine fridge is receiving power from the mains supply. If it's not, there might be a major issue with the mains power or the PSU circuit board in the product that'll likely need replacing if it's faulty.
Condenser fan: The condenser fan is designed to cool the condenser and condenser coil within the Avanti wine cooler. If it doesn't function, the condenser and coil can overheat - causing the internal area of the wine fridge to heat up too. Take a look at the rear of the unit and make sure the condenser fan is spinning freely and not blocked (by dust / dirt) or making excessive noise due debris or a blockage.
Thermostat: If the Avanti wine fridge thermostat is working correctly, it's responsible for making the condenser, evaporator, fan, and compressor work - so it's super important! The thermostat also allows you to control and adjust the temperature of the wine cooler so if the reading on thermostat is inaccurate (or flat out wrong) the wine cooler temperature will likely be inaccurate too.

My U-Line mode l15BWC fan and compressor won't work

More than likely it is the temp control (thermostat) it is what controls the on and off

MCWC52B wine cooler stopped cooling, compressor hot

Turn it off and place a small electric fan by compressor to cool it down.
When you turn it back on, see if you hear a clicking noise. This would indicate starting components need checking.

I have the Marvel 70 bottle wine cooler and it is making loud whining noise like if you put a stick in the wheel of spinning bike spokes when it is cooling down sometimes. it does not seem to be the fan...

I believe the 6SBAR has an evaporator fan located behind the evaporator plate ( the cooling plate) inside the unit. They had some issues with the bearings in those fans failing and will sound like a small jet engine sometimes (high pitched whine). When you hear the noise, open the door and if the noise level changes (either gets louder or goes away) then it is the evaporator fan. If your noise is coming from the compressor area and does not change when you open the door, it is most likely the condenser fan blade is loose. The evaporator fan looks like a small computer cooling fan and is located near the bottom center of the evaporator plate (out of site). The factory sells a replacement kit with a much better fan and new power supply. You can reach them at 800-223-3900. Good-luck.

Hi I cannot hear my thermostat in my wine cooler click when I turn it up or down. Do you think it is the thermostat needs replacing. If so where can I get a replacement?

If nothing is running and the lights are on then you need to replace the conntrol. You can visit U-line website to find out where to purchase the part, www.u-line.com and under customer service you will see parts locator.

Does not cool the wine, back panel is warm and unit is making a no

If your condensor fan is running and the compressor is running then you will need a tech to look at the sealed system for you.

Brand new out of box and will not cool - after 12 hours - compressor is very hot ?

First question is, are there any fans that are built in that are not running? next is there may be no freon in the unit. Ive seen new stuff from the factory have no freon inside. feel the suction line (the bigger one) from the compressor. It should be cool. The discharge line (smal one) should be hot.
