Magnavox MPD845 We have a Magnavox MPD845 and have used it maybe 4 times. When we put the dvd in it plays and the sound is there but the picture is grey. I have pressed the source button but still no picture.

We have Magnavox MPD845 and when we lift the screen, the picture is bright for approximately two to three seconds and then goes black. We can hear the sound, but no picture. We have made sure the battery is fully charged. No change.

Hi, Are you sure it is backlight? It may be the inverter unit also, which is more likely to go bad.

Magnavox portable DVD player model MPD845

Sounds like the laser is dying to the DVD player. I suggest you buy a new one before the one you have now poses more problems.

DVD player says no disc.

Some dvd players will simply not play dvd copies, or dvd's made on computers. If it's a store bought dvd that won't load, there is an item you can buy called a cd/dvd lens cleaner. This might help, and is a good item to have around anyway. Hope this helps.

How do you charge magnavox mpd845 portable dvd player

You should have a power adapter that you plug into the wall and then into the back of the DVD player. All the rest happens automatically. No power adapter, no charging.

Cannot read disc

Had the same type of problem; I called Magnavox on this one. These DVD players aren't "guaranteed" to be able to read discs that were "burned"/homemade. They're only "guaranteed" to play commerically produced DVDs. If you're trying to play something that you made it probably isn't going to work.

I have a magnzvox MPDD845 8.5" TFT Monitor Portable DVD Player

The sound you are hearing is the lens attempting to focus. Since it seems to recover, this could be an alignment problem or just a connection problem. Without seeing the waveforms of the tracking circuit, I can not say for sure. If this is a new unit, return it for warranty exchange or repair.
