Slow printing I have a Laserjet 4200 that has a delay between printing each page during multiple page print jobs. The print time on each individual page is fine, but there is a delay between pages. I've turned the device off, waited 10 sec, and turned it back on. I've looked through the menues and the documentation but I wasn't able to find any settings that would speed up the print jobs or reduce wait time between pages. This printer is connected to a network via a print server that is working well with the other printers attached to it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Slow printing of Acrobat pdf files on HP Laserjet 1300

I had the exact same issue awhile back printing to an hp printer from a mac. Anything more than a page or two would take forever. (an hour or more for 15 pages).
Click print from within the pdf, then advanced. Check the box for print as image, then ok. It printed the whole document within a couple of minutes instead of an hour.
I know this doesn't solve the reason why it won't print the normal way, but at least it will print.

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 1200 prints pdf documents slow

pdf documents are historically slow, they usually depend on how they are created and how many attachments or upgrades have been added to the document. this accounts for some of the variations of speed the documents are printed.

Why does processing job take long?

the print file detail may be multi-layered may be too much information in print job- your printer memory may not be adequate, you may be printing through a slow network, you may be printing through an older print server which is as slow as parallel port printing or you may be printing through your parallel port which is slow.

Hp laserjet 4200 will print a 50 page paper path test, print an extra page and then jam.

The paper feed solenoid is sticking. There is a foam material that deteriates over time and becomes sticky. I remove what's left and put masking tape in its place.

MY HP LaserJet 2840 has a brand new Toner cartridge. Now it won't print at all and we are getting a "OPC at end of life" prompt. What does this mean?

Imaging drum reach 20,000 (black only) or 5,000 (color), replace the image drum.

Supplies life
The life of the imaging drum depends on the number of black-only or color pages that print jobs
require. Imaging-drum life is also affected each time the device calibrates because calibrating causes the imaging drum to rotate. Imaging-drum life is measured in terms of number of rotations rather than number of pages printed.
The type and length of print jobs also affects drum life. A series of short print jobs uses more drum
life than an equivalent number of pages printed in a single large job. To extend drum life, print
multiple copies of a print job at one time rather than sending the same job to the device multiple times.
The life of a print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that print jobs require. When printing text at 5% coverage, black print cartridges last an average of 5,000 pages and cyan, magenta, and
yellow print cartridges last an average of 2,000 pages. High-capacity cyan, magenta, and yellow print cartridges last an average of 4,000 pages. (A typical business letter has 5% coverage.)

The printer is printing the same thing multiple times on a page and the page has ink all over it in bands

Check the transfer roller for impressions on it and also check the fuser to see if the protective coating is worn off.

Print delay of second print job

Printer delay can mean a few issues. You may be up to date on your windows, but sometimes this can actually be the issue. I would try updating the actual drivers at the canon website for your printer, and check your drivers are functioning properly first by going to start, control panel, main and per, printers, hardware, drivers. Check for error messages. Sometimes you can repair to fix errors if any. Also run antispyware and virus controls to eliminate these too. I had some malicious spyware that wiped my friends driver for her canon pixma clean off her pc!!! Check all printer settings too in case it is accidentally set to pause after first job.

Check the print processor settings in the advanced tab of the printer properties. This should be set to Winprint, and not anything else.
