Hello,
we have a marconi se-440 router that has been disconnect from our network. Now I need to login into it in order to find out the serial IP address.
I know the super user password of the web page but I don't know what is the user id for the console login.
I can't login through tcp/ip, in spite of remembering the ethernet interface IP address.
What is the default User ID for the console ?
Thanks a lot

you probably need to power cycle your router. Power cycling is when you unplug your modem and router for a few mins. Plug the modem back in first. Wait for it to intialize and then plug the router back in. If this doesnt work try erasing the network settings and reentering them bc they may have changed...
Your problem could technically be caused by a number of things , the most common ( I experience it quite often at my in-law's ) is incorrect / default settings on your router . If your internet provider gives you a wireless router / dsl modem combo ( like AT&T Uverse ) the default settings are horrible . 1st thing to do is identify your router ( brand / model # ) & obtain the default administrator password ( either from the manufacturers website / user guide or by calling ( ex. AT&T ) . Once you have the administrator login & password , you can fine tune your network settings .
You will need to have a pc connected to the router with an ethernet cable ( at least for configuring , then you can disconnect & use wireless ) . You will then need to open a internet browser , & type in the router's web management console address ( 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.1.1 , or you can find it in the router manual ) & hit enter . You should now see a page with user & password blanks for you to login . Once you have logged in you can start configuring the router for better performance , media sharing , coverage , & security . I recommend doing a google search on your particular router to get some good ideas / presets for you to configure ( if you don't know what something means don't just start changing things for the heck of it ( you could very easily screw up your whole network ) . If this doesn't resolve your issue , try connecting with an ethernet cable instead of wireless , try disconnecting other devices on your network ( if you have a lot of devices ( pc's , phones , game systems , etc... )) , finally try performing a system restore if all else fails .
Most new routers now a days need to be connected to with a network cable first, login to the router console and setup the wireless and wireless security before they will operate. you will want to login to your routers web interface. looks like this screen and work with the wireless menu
You normaly generate your own WEP key. A WEP key is a password to log in to your wirless network. Log into your router go to wireless settings some were on this page you will see WEp key gernate password phrase and like Key 1 , Key 2, Key 3 anyway go to Key 1 type in the password you want and click save settings..... Dont forget your password or you will half to hit the reset button on your router
default password is the same believe it or not
admin
admin
easy so to rest these things there should be an indented pushbutton on the back side .. use a ben to trip it.
you need to enter the default password ie 1234, dont just hit login else it wont prompt you for a password change and will take you directly to the status page (as you described where it does not allow you to make any changes)
For Windows XP operating system follow this method: Before doing this process disconnect all other pc or devices that connect to the network through your pc or through the router.
1.open the control panel and go to network connections
and right click the connection that is active and select properties and
select tcp/ip and click properties and change the ip settings to
automatic.
2.Now connect the pc/Laptop to your router through wired port.
3.open
your internet explorer and type your router's default ip address in the address bar.The
login page of the router will open.In this page give the username as
"admin" and password as "admin" in some router the password will be
"password" ( this passwords are default.if you have changed the
password login with that password)
Hope this might solve your problem. If not feel free to contact me.
