Acer travelmate 4000 laptop Big problem

Hi! my acer travelmate 4000 stopped working today. When i press the ON button, the button and the led lights up for a second and then dies, nothing on the screen, no cooling fan noise, no beeps, nothing.. I keep on pressing the button many times but still it still wont start, no boot page, no display, nothing.. like its dead. The last time i used it was last night around 11 pm. please help! ikoyski

Hi and thanks for the reply, tomorrow I'm gonna take it to a technician to have it checked. I'm really hoping that it's not the board or the CPU cause it's gonna cost me a lot..

I guess I can assume that you have it plugged into the ac power, so you know its not a power problem. We also know its not a problem with the power switch since the light turns on. So that leaves, motherboard, cpu, and ram possible problems. Ram would unlikely cause such a hault. Even with no ram, I believe the computer would make horrible beeping noises. So if its a problem with the motherboard or cpu, its pretty much trash, unless you want to waste the money on ebay or some place for another cpu to try to swap.

You'll need to select a wifi network to connect to. Also, bluetooth doesn't work that way, bluetooth is used to connect 2 devices to share files, it does NOT give you access to the internet

Acer (General) - FN+F5
Aspire 1000/1640Z/1690/2012 - Launch Keys above the keyboard
Aspire 16xx (General) the satellite-like launch button above the keyboard
Aspire 2000 Series (less Aspire 2012, See Above) - Button on the Front of the Laptop
Aspire 3005 on the lower right-hand side of your laptop
Aspire 3500 -
Aspire 5612 sliding button on the side of the laptop
Aspire 9302 the blue button on the left-hand side of the laptop
Aspire 94xx (General) the key found below the Lock key
Aspire One, in the lower right corner of the palm rest is a small strip with a picture of an antenna on it. An LED to the right of the strip lights to indicate the wireless is turned on.
Aspire One Series ZG5 -
Extensa 2000/2500 Series - Far Right launch button above the keyboard
Ferrari 3000/3020/3400/4000 - Button on Front of Laptop
Travelmate C Series - Far Left hot key and then choose WLAN from menu that appears

Hi,

The wireless switch is on the front of the laptop. Find the switch and move it, an LED will turn on indicating that the wireless radio is on.

I just want to know to turn on my TravelMate Laptop computer. I want to where the start button is? Simply as that.

You will find a key that has C facing upwards with an I in it. This is the power on switch.press it lightly. Three LEDs will turn green for a moment and then some more LEDs with start blinking. And finally you will get the Windows desk top.

Acer travelmate 2350 wont boot or display

I have seen this on several ACER Laptops. It is always the Motherboard. Contact Acer repairs and order a new motherboard. IT will likely be about $200ish dollars. Then follow one of the guides on the web for taking your laptop apart and replace the board.
