If your dealer has not already told you, I suggest you unplug the unit from the wall and let it sit for 30-45min. Plug it back in and hope...

Hello, inside the set there is an optical unit with 3LCD panels. Somehow the dust particles came into your set and now the dust is all over the optical unit and 3LCD panels. Only way to solve this issue is to clean the dust. Please contact your Sony dealer. Best regards, Arpi

Hi Julie,
There are a couple ways to go here. I'll give you the procedures step by step. If you want clarification on anything, just ask. If I make an assumption that is wrong, stop me and let me know. The more you know, the easier this will be for both of us.
First I'd like to double check on MisterSony's diagnosis. Refresh rates that are too high end up as a black screen on many LCD models.
This is my first assumption, the display settings are currently for both monitors. Your original screen is still functioning.
If so,
Get back to me with the results. If it was already set at 60Hz. We go to the next step.

SOURCE: can't get picture in wide format on the menu. 16:9 and 4:3 only.
I had the same problem with a 50". The only way I could fix it was to set my Bose system to 4:3 format and the tv to 16:9. Now you can use the zoom to get the right size
good luck
