Radio rejects CD's with an error code of E23

I just bought a 1997 Buick Park Avenue. When I insert a CD the radio pauses for about 15 seconds and then rejects the CD with an error code of E23

factory radio or aftermarket?

Brand? Model# helpful if aftermarket.

I checked my manual and could not find any results for an error e23, there is an error e20 for the reasons The disk is upside down
It is dirty scratched or wet
There's too much moisture in the air,wait about an hour and try again.
From presonel experiance these decks will not play MP3's only disks that have been burned using
the WAV. format.

Can I take the factory radio out of my 1997 buick park avenue and put in an aftermarket?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You sure can. The wires may need adjusted in the back and you might have to account for extra room, but yes you can make that switch.

The anti theft on the radio came on after we changed the starter on our 1998 buick park avenue and we do not have the code to turn it back on it has a cd and tape player

look inside your owners manual for the code ,if you cant find it you will have to pull your radio out and retrieve the serial # or take it to your gm service centre

How to remove the dashboard to get access to the radio? Buick Park Avenue 2003

There are approx 12-15 star shape small screw that hold the panel in place, inside the glove box, by the speedometer, next to the driver door just to the left of the steering wheel, also, you will have to pull on the panel slightly to unsnap the inserts

Excessive static on am stations when engine is running

two types of noise accur on radio's first is known as a whine,, goes up and down with engine rpm secound is static...normally static is from bad plug wire or plug... you probably have coil packs.. one of them could be arcing.. check it out in the dark of night and look for the spark light. most time good tune up fixes let me know
