Question about Gateway M275 Tablet PC

1 Answer

Not charging my m275 has just recently developed a problem with charging. i have two batteries, one sitting at 3% charge and one at 8%, i can swap them out and the computer recognizes them at their current charge. the charge light comes on as if the computer is charging the battery but neither will increase in charge level. both when the system is on and when turned off.

This is a very difficult thing to do unless you have experience at it. I would suggest calling a local repair shop. If you tell me where you're located, I might be able to suggest one.

Replacing the battery in a G Pad 7.0

Hi Amber.

A thread here has some tricks to try in the event that the charging circuit has gotten into a wonky state.
http://www.androidtablets.net/threads/lg-g-pad-battery-completely-drained-will-not-charge.70085 There also seems to be a lot of mention of the chargers going bad, and the charging port coming loose (it looks to be micro USB, so you may want to see if someone has another microUSB charger and whether charging works with that one).

This turned out to be more of a pain than anticipated finding a DIY to get inside. The best I found is here
LG Pad 8 3 Quick Teardown that gets into opening the tablet up, presumably enough that one can then swap another battery in.

Good Luck!

Tablet will not charge or power on

Battery is probably dead. If it's to far gone, the tablet will not charge or work.

Also, try taking the OEM charger/chord (not some ebay or cheapo gas station charger) and plug it in overnight. It may suprise you and start to charge.

Wont charge or keep a charge

yes, there is an issue with the power jack on that machine and the only way to resolve it is to replace the motherboard. if your computer is more than a year old, you probably need a new battery. it may show charged, but that's because all the cells that dont work are turned off. what you actually have is 70% of however many cells are left useable. if there aren't at least 3, then it will turn off with in minutes if not seconds after being unpluged. you can get a battery (and motherboard) here.

battery: there are two different part numbers, you should check yours to see which one to get

My Gateway m275 tablet will not charge or power up even with it plugged in

At least a 50% chance the power pin inside the computer has been damaged. Taking apart a laptop and getting it back together correctly is a tough job . . . .The part (the power pin) is not that expensive ($ 5-10) but the labor is expensive. If you don;t feel up to the task, have it fixed by a professional and after it''s fixed get a CRD (Cable Retention Device) to keep from damaging the pin a second time.

Battery Won't Charge

Try placing the battery in the freezer overnight or longer. Then draining the battery a couple of times. There are instructions on youtube I think.
