I have just seen this problem - or simmilar. The TV I looked at never showed the DELL logo or any other video. The sound is good , and changes chennel... All seems to work fine, but no picture. Anyway, I have been a component level technician for 18 years. I have TV's sent in by local Casino for repair. I repaired this model and sent back this week. Will need to see how it holds up, but I upgraded the parts - so it should work fine and last longer. I am not sure that all the TV's in this model have the same boards in them. The other Dell TV's I have worked on have the same model numbers, but have different electronics inside. Anyway, this may be a problem that I can repair. You can contact me if interested at [email protected]

I recently had one of these " Y - Main " boards sent to me to see if it could be repaired. It can! The repair was fairley easy. There are two input connectors ( black I think) on one side of the board. Right near these connectors are four very small glass diodes. ( four on each side ). When tested one side of these shorted to ground through all four diodes. In other words all four where bad on one side. I did not replace the four on the other side - as they tested good. Replacing these was the only problem that I found on the board. It is working fine now. I would guess that either side or both could be bad.

I've sent an email to Coretronic which is the manufacturer of the Y Main Board, to see if they can sell it or if there is a replacement part. I will keep you posted!

I have the same problem.
I have the same problem.... It's the Y board and dell does NOT sell parts... they told me the same thing, send the Plasma to their repair guys and this will be around $700 to fix it, while the Y Board is only about $150. Do you know of anyone that sells this Board?? or someone that can fix it? Thank you
Black screen. Won't turn on. Best Buy services Dell here. They say our TV needed a new Video circuit board.Best buy dosen't have the parts and are not allowed to install them. Dell wrote me an said they're not repairable. The TV is discontinued . Dell told me to buy a new TV!!! Very rude.

i have the same problem, fades from blue dell logo to black.
so whats wrong with it and what needs to be replaced?
I am having the same problem with the Dell 42" plasma. Do you know if the board is same in that tv?
Have 50" at 11 months and it died and they would not tell me a thing at Dell but tough luck.
I got a local shop to look at it but they said they need schematics to fix it.
Dell says they don't have it and can't tell us who makes the unit.
Powers go on for second then a pop noise and blank black screen.
It died back in August 07
I have a 2 year Dell W5001C HD, 50" Plasma TV and when you turn it on the Dell logo screen stays on. It does not respond to any command other than on and off either at the set or using the remote. I need a replacement main board. I have been on the phone for 3 days trying to get a part source. I have a case number 610215880 but no one calls back or responds to emails. I have gone on line and tried use the support, but they do not help. What I need is a source for parts to my TV.
I have the same problem sorta, I bought this T.V. Nov 2005 was working fine until a few days ago.
I will get the Dell blue screen and then black right away, sometimes with a pop sound.
I can hear the TV shows but no picture.
Their should be a supplier right? for say the Y board. or an online schematic must be available by now.
I've had my dell 50 inch plasma tv for about 3 years now, it would power on, but the monitor remains blank. I've searched for that y main board that the others were talking about, but with no luck. Can anyone tell me if this is also the problem? Y board needs to be replaced?
blank screen, but sound
Screen went blank and i am searching for the Y-Sustain board. My dell W5001C is made originally by Samsung. Looking for some assistance: email me at [email protected].
i got a dell 50 inch plasma i have had it for 14 mouths and now when i turn it on and all i get is a black screen.
I TURN ON MY T.V. AND ALL I GET IS BLACK SCREEN . AUDIO WORKS BUT NO VEDIO.
Dell TV W4201 no video or sound, can anyone help?
I had my Dell 42" Plasma less than 2yrs when it died. Started with a rippling screen that almost looked like a cable problem. Then it slowly got worse, it went from rippling to Dell logo and no screen to no Dell logo and black screen and now it won't even power up unless I do a Hard restart.
If anyone can help with part solutions or other suggestions I'd be ever so grateful.
By the way, Dell was totally useless and absolutely zero help. One Guy actually told me, and I quote "Sorry Sir but whats the big deal, just buy a new TV." The damn thing cost me a fortune through financing and it never lasted 2 yrs, give me a break.
Something else that totally pisses me off is that they are selling products in Canada and they have no way of servicing them and nobody in Canada will touch a dell television. Explain that to me.
Dell is a joke and has lost my business.
You are right Marquito it is Coretronics main board. The board # is CE80B1401G005B25430010. On more number is on the board. # 00.V0901GA04 Revision A04.
I hope this info helps. If anyone knows where to get these please let me know.
