Question about Kenmore 20.6 cu. ft. Upright Freezer 24092
A code "b" is a low battery. Replace the battery, reset the alarm and off you go.

I went on a call for a problem like you explained. I looked everywhere and found that a battery in a smoke detector was low and warning that it needed replacing. No insult, but the customer and I were both were a little supprised. Now I have not found a fridge beep yet, so if you have already found the answer please let me know. So we can pass the answer on to others that have had the problem you listed. I realize our response time is late, I just saw it today. Please tell me what you found, Thanks, JT

Ours also beeps nonstop. Our electronic panel gives what looks like either a "6" or a "b" code error. In the past I have had trouble with the freezer not defrosting. I had a tech to the house who replaced all the defrosting components, but it frosted up again a few months later. I manually thawed it out myself the second time, but now I am getting the erratic behaviors described above--at least the freezer is staying cold (for now, at least). At any rate, it is not the smoke detector.
I have the same problem but can not figure out how to get the electronic panel off to replace the battery without breaking the panel.
