Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

My creative zen plus is stuck on play but no music, no other buttons work and I cannot shut it down.

    My Creative Zen is also stuck in play mode four seconds into a song. None of the buttons work, and I can't turn it off either...it is completely frozen. Anybody have any ideas???

    The music stopped an everything stopped working except the screen which was froze and won turn off and nothing will work at all.It's like the whole thing broke but is still on.

    The same thing happened to me - I was connected to the PC when it just froze, none of the buttons work.

  1. Turn off your player (if possible).

  2. Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.

  3. Power on the player.

  4. The reset hole for the ZEN V / V Plus is located on the left side with the player facing up.

This sounds like a dead screen, which means it is time for a new player.

My creative zen v plus is stuck in shutting down

i think i have a different version of zen but hopefully it'll work for you. i held down the power button and pokes the reset button with a pen tip for about 5 seconds and it finially turnned off! i've had alot of problems with the zen and it sorta happens alot and most times you need to do different things but the same problem usually doesnt come bk. good luck

My zen is frozen on creative

If a reset does not work then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

Press the "reset" button. If it didn't work, upgrade the firmware of this product. If problems still continue, contact the Creative company.

holding play button while powering up, then running Clean Up & rebooting did the trick.

My creative zen v plus is not detected by my pc when connected its screen has reddish lines neither it is shutting down nor it is working

Using the instructions below try Cleanup first, if that doesn't work... (if you have a backup of all your music on your computer), try the format option

  1. Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

Creative Zen V 2gb Plus

"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
