Problems with NEC Versa Drive Case VX MODEL.

The only manual I could find is for the NEC Versa 2700. It looks to have generally the same case. The link below will take you to the page, scroll to the bottom where it says download, click here. It will either open or save it to a file....good luck.

you will need to go to the NEC website and get the updated windows 7 drivers, if they are unavailable you can also use the windows vista driver instead

You can insert the Windows XP CD while logged on Win 98 and run a test from the CD. Obviously you need a larger Hard Disk and at least 126 MB RAM to bring XP to a usable speed. You can look for RAM upgrade options in this page.

Laptops do not have IDE cables, the 21/2"hard drive is connected directly to the motherboard via a 44 pin socket.

What do you need an IDE cable for?
This cable would be difficult to connect into the laptop's motherboard hard drive connector.

Do you want to connect and test a laptop hard drives?
It is easier to use an USB hard drive adapter, all you need to do is connect the hard drive to the adapter and plug this adapter into a computer's USB port and the computer will detect it as an external drive (provided the hard drive is OK).
