Question about Iomega StorCenter (33349)
After shutting down the storcenter for a weekend I started it back up on to find that the RAID setting had changed from 1 (mirroring) to 0 (striping). Now the drive says that it has 0gb of used space from 0gb of available space. I've called tech support but all they say to do is reformat the drives. However, there's data that I'd like to get off of the unit? Any suggestions? Do you think I can access the drive through a crossover cable? If so, how do I do this? Thanks.
Most likely the controller on the unit has failed. That is why you are getting the 0GB 0GB when you look at it. The data is still on the drives. If you had mirror, remove one of the drives and install if you can into a PC and retrieve your data. Then call to have the unit replaced.

Hmm... you could try removing the drives from the NAS device and plug them into either a SATA or EIDE cable in your PC. That way you can at least try to get your data off. If they were truly set for mirroring, then both drives should have the same data... so if one doesn't work, try the other. It may be a failed drive has the backend loop hung up.

my iomega storcenter never gets up, the red light just keeps flashing and nothing happens. when use the discovery tool found it but cant get access to it. also one time i get acess but a lot of the files where missing. Now there is a clinging sound when is powered on.
NAS 150D 1TB. Used the unit today with no problem. Drives are mirrored. Now it shows 0GB and empty. When I try to connect directly (OS Vista) it says error. Tried resetting without success. Green and blue lights on but cannot access it. On My Computer it shows the available space as a red bar instead of a clear bar with green for used space.
