Water drips from bottom of fridge. It happens

Water drips from bottom of fridge. It happens randomly maybe once a week or so.

What is the brand and model number of your fridge?

I can only guess, but you might have a plastic condensation pan that slides out to the front. It might be located behind the bottom grill that should pop off. The pan might be full and overflowing. Ours used to get full in humid environments, but after moving to a dryer climate, the condensation that collected in the pan evaporates before it can overflow. Now we simply clean it once every few months to prevent odor problems.

Look in the bottom of the inside of the freezer, you probably will see ice buildup. You have to clear the drain which is stopped up at the bottom of the panel that covers the freezer evaporator.Every 8 hours the drain receives water from the auto defrost and needs to go in the drain, if drain is stopped up it freezes and eventually runs out the front

What is wrong with Kenmore Elite 795.75192400?

dear Bill if its a no frost refigerator sounds like you might have to take all the drwars out unscrew or detach the back plate and defrost the fridge manually and then unblock the drain hole which goes to the back of the fridge into a plastick container ontop of the compressor which in turn will evaporate from the heat of the compressor . Hope this does the trick .. good luck. Tony

Water leaking

the bottom tray/salad compartment will always get a fair amount of condensation because they are glossy plastic(bathroom paint is matt)the only "cure" is kitchen towel under the tray and remove once a week.as for the drain it is normally at the back and does collect a fair amount of "moss"in the tube, pour some clorine bleach down to clear any out.the design of the shelves directs the side/back condensation down the drain.

The drip tray is blocked, open your door, about half way down at the back you can see the drip try, on the Right hand side there is a hole where the water drains, poke a plastic straw down there to clear.

Water in bottom of refrigerator coming from freezer (not really sure of the exact model as I'm not home to double check).

If water appears on the floor in front of the refrigerator once or twice a day, it could be due to a clog in the defrost drain tube. The usual evidence of a clogged drain in a side-by-side refrigerator is ice under the bottom basket in the freezer compartment, in addition to a puddle of water on the floor. Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Water dripping inside fridge

OK, i see a lot of this, and on a fridge that is nearing 10 years old, its pretty normal. Now, we all know that water is leaking into the fridge section from up top because the drain is plugged that is under the evaporator.. now to fix the WHY it happened. most of the time this will happen because the fridge did not go into a DEFROST cycle for a while.. reason being one of two things... either the defrost timer has quit working, or the bimetal thermostat sensor that is clipped on the evaporator has failed. the bi-metal thermostat is usually located in the freezer behind the rear wall and looks like a round "clip on" with 2 wires coming off of it. one pic of one is here.

instructions on how to test this is shown on the link.
(just replaced mine the other day, NO MORE WATER LEAKS! =) )
hope this helps!

Bottom of freezer icing with thick sheet of ice

you have a froen drain thats why it is allways getting ice on the floor. you need to remove as much as you can then remove the back of the freezer so you can clear the drain pan and clear the drain. its not hard to do just you will have a lot of water on the bottom and your floor maybe. once you remove the ice from the pan have some very hot water and pour it in the pan utill the drain is free and the water go's down into the drip pan. shut the unit off untill tour done and be carefull around the coils. once its clear put the back on and plug the fridge back in. you will now have no more ice build up. make sure there is no food back there that can block the drain either. its a god time to clean the freezer out
