The heat no longer comes on.

However, the 2 little yellow lights come on so the electricity is reaching them.

The Lakewood 5500 heater may not heat, yet all lights are on, due to the thermal fuse inside the control box being blown.

It works like a normal fuse, yet will blow if the temperature gets too hot. When it opens, it will prevent any electricity to get to the heating coils and connot be reset. It must be replaced.

You can open the control area by removing the front foot of the unit, removing another screw behind that foot. This will allow you to slide the whole control end off the unit. At the bottom next to the heating element, you will notice 3 wires to the elements - red, blue, & white.

The white wire runs underneath the terminals & is sheathed. Under this sheath is the thermal fuse.

Be sure to replace it with the same temperature rating (167 C).

I don't recommend bypassing the thermal fuse, however, due to it's a safety issue.

I found the fuse at the following link:

Heater problem

Is the unit a heat pump? If so then check the aux heat relay to see if the electric heat strips come on.

What is yellow light of death on playstation 3/after aq couple of years of use the playstation no longer comes on

The Yellow light of Death indicates a general hardware failure normally due to overheating. When these PS3's were produced Sony decided to use lead free solder. The problem with lead free solder is that it is not as flexible as leaded solder but it is cheaper and more environmentally friendly. When the console gets hot and cools down hairline cracks appear within these solder joints and a good electrical contact cannot be made. This then causes the console to fail. It could be on a number of different components including the CPU, GPU or memory. There is a temporary cure that may or may not work but ultimately the console will need to be repaired professionally or replaced. If it is out of warranty Sony will not replace it but will offer a refurbished unit for around £130. If you look on Youtube for Yellow light of death fix there is a way that you can re-heat the solder joints using a heat gun but if you are not confident taking apart electrical items then this really may not be something you want to try.

I am sorry I cant give you any better news but unfortunately it is a very common problem with the PS3

Hope this helps

The heater come on and cycles on and off, but the water no longer reaches the correct temperature. Pool techicina has replaced the thermostat and disassembled and cleaned something, but it still will not...

This could be the flow rate / value...maybe the unit is under rated in its BTU value. But if it did work fine and heat the water ok then its not this...next thing would be the system control switches...each of these needs to be tested one by one to see if it cutting out the system too early...failing that it is the flame being produced and the heat value is cold see if the flames are blue or yellow...blue is fine nice and hot yellow is too cold to heat the water passing through

When the bake/broil light goes off is the oven still heating? does that just mean that it reached that temperature?

Hi, When the light goes off, the temperature has been reached. The light should come back on when the temperature drops far enough that the elements come back on.
I hope this helps you.
