I have a Kenmore Side by side Refrigerator grab n go style door Model # 72063. The refrigerator is cold but the freezer is not freezing. Ice maker isn't making ice either. Could anyone tell me the part number for the compressor start relay? Thanks!
Good day, Either the water valve opens to fill the ice maker cavity, and doesn't shut off soon enough, causing the ice maker to overflow. Normal file time is approx. 7 seconds. This is the most common problem. As well, it is possible the micro switch in the ice-maker that tells the valve to open and close has malfunctioned. This is all based on the fact that the freezer maintains a normal temperature. To test the freezer for consistency, place a plastic glass in the freezer half full of water. Check it in 8 hours. It should be frozen solid. Then place the glass in a plastic bowl, and lay the glass on it's side. Recheck in 24 hours. The ice should remain in the glass. If not, there is a problem with the refrigeration system.
IF FREEZER IS A THE CORRECT TEMP/ O-10 DEGREES, THE FREEZER IS NOT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A THERMOSTAT IN YOUR ICE MAKER, IT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. IT IS A SMALL BI METAL SWITCH THAT TRIGERS ICE MAKER WHEN IT REACHES ITS PROPER TEMP. THE PROBLEM IS, IT IS TRIGERING IT AT TO LOW OF A TEMP.NOT ALLOWING THE ICE TO FREEZE SOLID. IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT CHANGE BIMETAL SWITCH OR CHANGE ICE MAKER ITSELF.

Here are some things you can check yourself. Does it run all the time almost non-stop? if so check the vents under the front of the frig and make sure they are clean. Aslo check the condenser coil (either in back of the frig,or under the frig)Make sure that coil is clean. The condenser coil has to have contact with the outside air in order to release the heat it removed from inside the freezer.
Make sure you frig has plenty of ventilation ( wall too close on sides and back) Hope this helped. If not then you should have a pro look at it.
