Re: problem: does not read Audio CD
I had the same problem with my driver witch can handle CD Rom and DVD. You may want to uninstall the driver by going to the Device Manager on your PC if is Windows, once there look for the Driver you are having problems then right click and uninstall it. You may be prompted to restart your computer do so, if not restart it anyways.
Remember the installation cd? if you don't have one don't worry windows supports this driver. Now you pc will tell you that it has detected a new hardware wait until it tells you the hardware is ready to be used, try out a regular CD. Now if you have done all this and nothing happens you may consider getting a new Driver after a wile the dual function drivers stop working not for software or computer problem but for manufacturer issues.

dvd roms have read and write heads different for cd and dvd. so please use a software like nero and click on drive properties if it cant read a dvd it means the head has to be cleaned or replaced. the replacement is done by chip level repairers for about 20 dollars usd.
Its because you need a firmware update. The media you are currently using isn't recognized. I stumbled in here with the same problem. I haven't been able to find an update, so I will probably have to try a different brand of disc myself. The burner worked fine until I tried using a new pack of Verbatim discs.
