will not **** the water from carpet... 2nd machine I have returned..Getting very upset

  • Anonymous May 17, 2009

We have tried everything and still no suction.

  • bettyjo563 May 21, 2009

i tried slamming home the recovery tank as sherrylane recommended. i could tell a difference in the sound; but still had air coming out the sides and no pick up suction.

THIS IS A BRAND NEW MACHINE! it is actually brand new machine #2. the first one went back the store. the 2nd one is about to go back too! i spent the last hour and half tinkering with this machine. all i have is a wet rug!

i am very disappointed in this brand.

I would almost guarantee the recovery tank is not seated properly. Trust me, I reseated the tank 5-10 times before giving up. I finally decided to give it one more try before forking out the money for another cleaner. I removed the clean water tank, turned the machine on (you could feel the air blowing out the sides on the bottom). With the machine still running, I unclipped the recovery tank and lifted it up (yes, you can do this, and it creates a very loud air thrust, but don't be scared), then I SLAMMED it back down into the seat and immediately I could tell the difference. The air stopped blowing from underneath and I could tell I had suction once again. I turned it off, put the clean water tank back on, and it worked like a charm. Trust me, you may be convinced that the recovery tank is seated properly.....LOL.....it ain't! Hope this helps!

I had the problem too. Try taking off the top of the recovery tank and put it back on making sure it's tight. Mine wasn't on tight so it wouldn't create the vacuum. Works like new now :)

Royal pro series carpet cleaner, new only used once. Tried today and sprays water but won't extract. Nothing in dirty water tank.

Inspect where the suction comes the machine into the water tank and through the tank to the nozzle assembly. If something isn't seated correctly or isn't working properly it could cause a suction loss.

Will not **** the water off the carpet.

If the carpet cleaner won't "Extract" water from the carpet, try using the upholstery / hand tool. If you have suction there, your selector switch / knob is either in wrong position, or broken. There may also be a tear in the hose on the inside of the cleaner, or the waste tank is not sealing well.

Loud whining sound and wont **** up the water on my f5914-900

Loud whining noise generaly indicates motor issues, which also provide suction to extract water from carpet.

Since the last use of my new ProHeat X2 carpet

Check the lint filter. It is located in the top clear plastic section (the one with the dial to switch from floor to tool mode). On the underside of this section is a small (about 1 inch square) red plastic piece with a little door on it. Flip open the door and you will probably find it is clogged. Clean it out and you should have full suction again.

Bissell pro heat will not extract water from the carpet

Try checking the top section of the machine (where the dial is located to switch it from floor to tool) and there is a little red plastic piece about 1 inch square on the inside of it. This is a lint filter that has a little door on it. Open the door or remove the entire thing to clean it out. It is probably completely blocked with hair, etc.. which is why you have no suction. Replace it after you clean it out and hopefully your problem will be solved!

The hoover shampooer will not extract the water from carpet, is it because the carpet is so low ?? the carpet is cleaning fine there is VERY poor underlay and then wood under that, worried about the wood...

do you have suction at the front of the base,if you don't then look at the plastic cover on the base, you should be able to see through the plastic.the suction slot on the bottom front of the base is very narrow.i don't know if you have pets but most of the time the suction chanel gets clogged with hair and dirt.the chanel is right up the middle on top of the base.look in there and see if you don't see a lot of hair and dirt stuck up inside.there are some screws on the bottom that you need to take out to remover the cover.then the cover comes apart in two pieces to allow you to get to the suction chanel.please leave some feedback.i hope i was some help to you

Won't extract water from carpet.

Seems the 1950W is now obsolete, cna't even bring up a drawing of it. Usually when the vac. motor is running, then there has to be suction. But if a seal or gaske is missing, then the suction will be lost. So you might check the dirty water tank to make sure there isn't a part missing or out of place. Check this out, it is for a 1950-3:

Puts solution down will not extract

On the inside of the recovery tank lid, the foam filter, if it is all of the way up to the top of the lid, lower it to leave about a 1/4 in. gap. The red filter at the bottom is clogged. The lid is not locked onto the tank, these are the main reasons when you don't have suction.
