My 10 year old kitchenaid dryer

I'm sorry about coming in here with an old machine problem. My dryer is about 10 years old and does not produce any lint in the filter. Can you suggest anything?

If its not producing lint then more than likely that it has a hole in a inner pipe and the lint is going inside your drum take the back off with the machine un-plugged and check if lint is inside then clear it out has this can set afire then find were it is coming from u can do this 2ways look for the hole or plug back in and start it if u will notice were it is coming from within a few minutes

you need to clean out the dryer.somewhere lint is blocking the air movement.pull off the vent line,if it's long blow it out with a leaf blower, then clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the cabinet where the motor is.if it's gas you should do this once a year electric once every two years.

you need to clean out the vent line and the dryer.unplug the dryer, pull out the filter, remove the bottom panel and then remove the duct that the lint filter slides into and clean it out,vac out the inside of the dryer,if you have a shop vac you can blow all the lint from the back and then vac it up,make sure you blow off the motor, alot of lint gets built up around and inside it,pull out the dryer and pull off the vent line,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, first go outside and make sure the vent is clear so when you blow out the vent line nothing is blocking the lint from coming out.this will take care of your problem,do this once a year and your dryer will last longer, you'll need less parts changed out over the years because the dryer won't over heat, you'll save on electricity, your clothes willl dry on time and most of all you won't have any fires

The dryer will not produce heat and blowing lint

check where your dryer vent goes through your outside wall they sometimes clog up with lint and cause the escaping heat to recirculate back to your dryer causing the sensor to read the dryer as too hot clear all lint from the outside vent so you can feel the air coming out very steadily and quickly If this works you are all set otherwise check your heating element

My lint trap has very little lint.

Older clothes do not produce as much lint as new ones. Also, if your dryer isn't getting as hot as it used to, then you won't get as much lint either. Does it seem to take a bit longer to dry your clothes? Also, check your dryer vent, if the airflow is reduced, the amount of lint that is expelled through the filter will deminish as well. You may have a build up of lint in the vent ducting to the outside that is restricting airflow.

Excess lint

well lint comes from the clothes so the more you use the dryer, the more lint you will get. check the lint filter, it could be damaged and not catching the lint as it should.

Increased drying time; removal of lint behind tumbler ???

I have a top loading Kenmore High capacity dryer that is over 10 years old, it has been working very well, unfortunately when cleaning the lint filter my wife dropped a piece of paper down the lint duct hole. The paper evidently fell to the bottom of the lint duct. I am unable to reach the paper from the top of the dryer where the lint filter is inserted. The dryer now makes a grinding type noise when it is turned on. Can you tell me how to reach the paper and remove it

A lot of lint is getting by the in unit filter screen and is cloging the outside vent bird screen The dryer is about one year old and is a model DHDVH52

Check the seal for the dryer vent coming from the drum itself. It may just be a simple lint filter replacement that is realitively cheap and can be bought from www.marcone.com. If it is a top removable lint filter, the seals get worn out quite easily. Also, be sure to clean the lint filter after EACH load to help prevent it.

Clothes don't dry fully on automatic cycle with "normal" selected.

there may be a fault on the low heat setting, check the element works on both settings, otherwise nothing to suggest, apart from are you overloading it with too many items?

Wasing machine leaves rust spots on clothes.

check the basket of the machine for rust spots on the basket if thats the case the basket should have a 10 year warranty depending on the age marks are either caused from that or the dryer. if its frigidaire the dryer then the front seals probably need to be changed make sure to find out exactly which machine its coming from
