Question about Canon MP610 Photo All-In-One Printer
Hi, I have done all the choices for maintenance on my Canon MP610 and there are still lines across it... blank lines where it didn't print. The ink is all fine. Nothing seems clogged... I have cleaned it all a bunch of times. I have realigned it a bunch of times . How do I know if I need another part? and, what part would that be?
Take the print head out of the machine and sit it in a saucer of very hot ( just off boil) water about 10mm deep for a minute. Take it out and sit in on a pad of paper towel to dry briefly before returning it and the cartridges into the machine. Give it a deep clean and try again. If still no good, the print head has probably had it.

If you look on the net this problem is very common. There is a good idea that seems to have helped heaps of people on fixyourowncomputer.com using WD-40. Worth checking it out

SOURCE: Canon MP610 out of black ink
Cannon Pixma MP610 - when the black ink is empty and you receive the replace ink message, then hold down the "cancel" button for 5 seconds or so and it the printer automatically bypasses the problem. It does work but Ive had mixed success in terms of the print quality when doing this.
