A seized focus control should be able to be repaired by most optics repairers. It is a simple job and doesn't require the removal of the image intensifier. They should be made aware though that the image intensifer needs to be opened in a "cleanroom" envrionment and should be purged with nitrogen once repair is completed

40.3 square metres is how many cubic metres n how many cubic yards

Square metres is a measure of area. Cubic metres and cubic yards is a measure of volume. There is no conversion between them without a third dimension.

Consider a storeroom that's 40.3 square metres in area. How much stuff can you store in it? Well, that depends on how high the ceiling is. If the ceiling is 2 metres high then the volume of the room is 80.6 cubic metres. If the ceiling is 3 metres high then the volume is 120.9 cubic metres.

One cubic metre is about 1.31 cubic yards.

I have the ATN Night Shadow Gen 1 with the doubler and long range illuminator. After only several uses I can no longer get any distance out of it. I can see objects close up (20 yards) but everything...

Hello, Welcome to ATN Russian image intensifier tube. That right Russian. There is a good possiblity that Russian manufactured the hole binocular with ATN name and logo on it. Typically, this image tube are made to their standards and not to USA standards. There are a lot of countries in this world that manufacture night vision devises and there parts. I know that ATN didn't pay what you paid for this nice looking....yes, that what I said "nice looking" But that about all it is... You can send it back to ATN for repairs but it will new Russian parts to replace old Russian parts.

Now, check IR illuminate to see if it is working. This 1st gen Russian image tube are good up to 80-100 yards. I wish you all the luck. GB...stewbison

I would like to convert yards to metres example 2390yards how many metres and 144 yards how many metres

  • 1 Understand the formula. Converting units of measurements always requires a specific formula. The procedure from yards to meters is X (yards) multiplied by "0.9144" meters.
  • 2 Write your formula with the number of yards. Multiply by "0.9144." For example, 100 yards * 0.9144 =?.
  • 3 Use a calculator. In the example above, 100 yards * 0.9144 =?, the answer is 91.44 meters.

Hope this answers all your questions

I can't find object in dark. Though the camera should identify (may be red ray focus) the object to take snap. In manually I set up all the possible way but in vain. Could you pls. give me a set up...

Yes, the camera does attempt to illuminate the area to allow autofocus, but the darker it is, the harder it is for autofocus to work. This is a problem even with high-end SLRs.
Usually the center focus point is the strongest and focusing works best when there is a strong vertical line.

There isn't a complete solution, but you there are a couple of work-arounds If you have a camera with manual focus, then use manual focus Point the center focus point on an edge, depress the shutter button 1/2 way to focus, then re-frame the picture.

My atn mk-258 fell 3 feet to the ground. Now, power light works, all three ajustment lights work. But no green scope or white weapons site. What is needed for repairs and who would do the repairs?

Sorry, You probly disloged the micro plate in the image intensifier tube or brok it. Very thing in scope MK258 is manufactured in Russia. I have two or three of these Russian image tube, they are all generation 1 and cheap. About the only thing they use of scope shock is a thin rubber colar around the image tube. There is a good possibly it destroyed the image tube, sorry. stewbison

BACK BRAKES SEIZED ON WHEN CAR IS NOT USED FOR A FEW DAYS Hi, I own a ford focus and have had it off road for 2 months. The brakes have seized on and the car wont budge! does any one know what i could do?...

Hi there,

Yes this does happen when cars are just sat there,

I can suggest spraying some WD40 on the pads for now, and then geting another car to try tow you a few metres just to ease you out, after you have them moving jack the care out, take the wheels of and sand away the rust.

After this i suggest taking it to the garage and getting new pads and disc's

Hope this helps

Focusing Difficulties

1. Typical problem subjects for autofocus 1) Very low-contrast subjects 2) Overlapping nearby and distant objects 3) Very bright subjects in the center 4) Subjects moving very fast 5) Subjects through glass Focus on an object that is at the same distance as the desired subject, apply Focus Lock, and then recompose the picture. Or set the lens focus mode switch to (or), and focus manually. (Manual focus is only possible with cameras providing this feature.) 2. Attempting to take pictures out of the camera's shooting distance: When taking pictures out of the camera's shooting distance, the subject will be out of focus. The shooting distance differs from each camera model. Please check the specifications of your camera in the instruction manual to determine the shooting distance.
