Getting F9 Code & beeping

My range is showing a F9 + beeping. Oven door latch will not allow door to close.

When F9 appeared I pressed CANCEL but, F9 & beeping came back.

I've unplugged the range. I'm desperate ...what's wrong with my range??

I haven't been able to use my range for a week.

Thank you!

Is there something I can do to make the door latch release & allow the oven door to close? The oven door will not close.

The strange thing about the whole F9 & beeping is that I wasn't using the oven OR the cleaning feature.

I appreciate you input....I'm just so desperate to use my stove. Can I still use my burners safely?????

Can you tell me how to "inspect the door latch"?

Not that it's important but I'm a senior lady living on SS. Is this something I could fix on my own.

    Thank you....you are so helpful

Hi. this fault code represents a door latch fault. You will need to inspect the door latch components. Once this issue is fixed, it will start to work normally. Its nothing serious like a control board or power supply board. Its juts that the door latch components are malfunctioning.

please rate and god bless..

You should be able to use the burners safely.

It seems like this may be a mechanism failure. there are a few components that will have to be tested with a multimeter before you will know which component has failed. If you don't own a multimeter, i would call a service tech out for a quick repair visit.

Got F9 on Amana range model ACS3350 while trying to clean oven. The door is locked and got constant beeping with F9 error code. Powered off oven for 10 minutes and powered on, still getting the door...

Shut off the circuit breaker to it for FIVE minutes, then back on. If the problem persists then do the following:

A latch locks the center top INSIDE of the door during cleaning.
Run a piece of semi-stiff, flat object, like a cardboard strip that is in L shape behind the top lip of the door from RIGHT TO LEFT. You may need to push it along with your finger jambed in there when it reaches the latch. With a little push the latch should open.

Try to run the oven, if F9 shows again, press cancel Oven to quiet it. The Lock state is still in place. Move the latch hook manually all the way to RIGHT. Then shut off the circuit breaker for FIVE minutes, then back on. The oven should work ok.

If this fails again try the five minute shut off with the latch in other starting positions.

If none of these work then the latch mechanism, or it's motor is really broken. Replace or ditch and never buy Amana again!

Get message F9 on the display, I went to clean the oven in the self cleaning mode, heard the door latch trying to close, then it started beeping and flashing the F9 on the display. I turned off power for...

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

What does F9 mean? Won't allow me to use the oven

F9 -It is a Door latch fault code

Check door latch components. The stove is not detecting a proper door close.Or else there might be some metal blocking the door from closing. It should solve itself in few hours else you might have to replace the door latch system.Good luck with the machine. Please do post comments. Also do rate the solution.Thank you in advance.

How do I clear error beeping (F9) on my Amana gas range

try to hold in on the oven light switch plunger that the door would hit if it was closed properly. what you probably did was to pull the door open while it was trying to lock. once you hold the plunger in, then hit the clean cycle again and then push to cancel button to get the door latch to unlock the door. it may take a minute or two but that should clear up the error code and let you use the oven again.
next time if you push the clean by mistake, just let it go and then when it says "locked" just push the cancel button. it will unlock and be ready to use.

F9 Code after power outage - Model JGR8855ADS

Try unplugging the oven from the electrical power. May release the lock, which is held in place by a tiny micro switch. If not and while the electric is still off or the oven is unplugged, use a bright light flashlight to look through the slot where the lock is in the oven, not in the door.

You may be able to use a thin blade screwdriver to move the lock to the release position. Check the angle of the lever. A slightly bent lever handle also can cause this type of condition.

If all else fails, remove the access panel on the front of the oven to access the locking device and release it. May have to disconnect the wires to the lock which will allow door to function but not during any self cleaning modes.
