Phaser 8200 Smears on Linen Paper

We purchased new stationery with a linen finish, and suddenly our Phaser 8200 has a major smearing issue. On a large print job, it will start out fine, but then begin smearing. It literally prints a ghost of the previous page on the following page. Is this a product of the paper type? Is the Phaser 8200 not compatible with linen paper? Any other possible fixes?

Your maintenance kit is running low on oil and needs to be replaced. Since the image drum is not getting enough lubrication, some of the ink from the previous page is sticking to the drum and carried over onto the next page. Also, try to match the printer paper type to the paper you are using. It will adjust speed, temperature, etc. to optimize print.

What properties do the linen clothes have?

The art of spinning linen yarn has been known for thousands of years, and till now linen fabrics do not lose its relevance in everyday life, fashion, and production. The unique properties of linen fibres make linen clothes not only pleasant and durable but also useful for health.
Miitu specializes in the production of clothing from natural linen. When choosing our products, you can be sure that you give your body health and comfort, and the opportunity to always look beautiful and stylish.
Linen has got bactericidal properties. This means that the pathogenic microflora is killed by contact with linen tissues. Silica (silicon dioxide), contained in flax, suppresses the growth of bacteria that cause fermentation and decay. Regular sleep on linen or wearing linen clothes speeds healing of wounds and acne, sunburn, and wounds in linen bandages are tightened faster. Linen can be ironed with a hot iron and boiled, which makes it possible to provide fabrics with maximum sterilization.
Antifungal properties of flax fibre help to cure fungal diseases. Therefore, linen fibre shoe insoles are used to get rid of the unpleasant odours. A similar effect is obtained by your entire body during sleep on linen bedding sets.
Unpainted linen fabrics are hypoallergenic. When growing flax is much less processed by chemicals than cotton. The high strength of flax fibres does not require manufacturers to use fabric improvers to create protection from shrinkage. Advice to allergy sufferers - choose linen fabrics that are easy to crumple and hard to iron - they do not have chemical treatment from creasing.
Being a natural material, linen fabric is perfectly "breathing", i.e. air flows, steam. It provides optimal ventilation of the skin, helps us regulate heat - when it touches the skin in winter it warms, in summer it removes heat, reducing body temperature. Hygroscopicity, or ability to absorb and evaporate moisture, is higher for flax than for cotton (12 and 8%, respectively). This property is important not only for our summer clothes but also for bed linens and kitchen towels at any time of the year.
Linen does not electrify. Hence, your hair will always look neat, if you wear linen shirts or sleep on linen pillowcases. In addition, the minimum electrification ensures the purity of the fabrics.

Why is my linen dress shiny after ironing at the linen setting?

The fine fibres at the surface of linen stand up like the bristles on a brush. Light coming into the fibres gets trapped. When you iron the linen, you flatten the fine fibres. Incoming light no longer gets trapped in the spaces between the fibres and instead is reflected (bounced back) like on a mirror. That is why linen looks shiny after ironing. To prevent this, use a damp cloth on top of your linen when ironing. This will flatten (iron) the linen material but not compress the fine fibres. Good look.

What are table linens?

According to Wikipedia "The collective term "linens" is still often used generically to describe a class of woven and even knitted bed, bath, table and kitchen textiles. The name linens is retained because traditionally, linen was used for many of these items."
Therefore table linens can refer to any tablecloths or napkins, but are so called because they were originally made from linen.

Sometimes it's due to low fusing temperature. Certain papers need higher temps. Check the paper supplier or look in the printer setup menus and adjust the paper type to as close as possible to what you have.

Blurry Printing

Quite possibly, your Wave Amp board has failed. If so, it is more cost effective to purchase a new printer than to repair yours unless you can find used parts.

Currently, Xerox is offering a trade-up rebate on new solid ink printers.
