Ink waste absorber is full. Canon IP2000. How do I repair it?

Well, at some point you will need to either replace or wash the absorber pads in the printer - but you can reset the warning as follows:

1) Turn the printer off
2) Press and hold the <resume>button
3) Press and hold the <power> button
4) While holding down <power> release <resume>
5) With the power button still held down, press <resume> twice more
6) Release the power button
7) Press and release the <resume> button 4 times
8) Press and release the <power> button twice

At this point, the printer should come back online with the waste ink warning reset

Personally, I would only do this once before actually changing the ink absorber pad...

The waste absorber is full

Call Canon at 732-521-7230 and they will sell you a new ink absorber pad. You will need the reset code for your model printer. Find this by searching for canon used ink tank. One of the results should match your machine. You can also take out the pad(It can be messy so wear gloves), wash with water hose, let it dry completely, and reinstall it in the printer.

Canon iP2000 waste ink absorber

You dont replace it, you wash it and reinstall it in the printer. Use hot water for washing it.

resetting the waste-ink full code:

1 - press resume button and then press power button
2 - realese the resume button and press 2 more times then realese both
3 - press and release resume 4 times and power 2 times...
The way it works is to PRESS the ON/OFF button plus the RESUME button at the same time, keep your fingers on both bottons all the time THEN let go of the resume button and press it 2 times and only then let go of the OFF/ON button (which you have been helding down while pressing the resume button 2 times). Then INDIVIDUALLY, first press and release the resume button 4 times and the power button 2 times after this. Works like a charm !
