Question about Kodak EasyShare LS443 Digital Camera

Kodak ls443 I had an error #45 code. When I contacted tech support through kodak they said it could be the battery. I just know got a new battery and the lens motor is acting intermittent. Not fully retracting or extending. Is the camers shot or is there hope?

#45 is a lens error code, very common problem with ls443, not much you can do, you will need to replace the whole lens assembly

Hello, The system error codes are for kodak diagnostic purposes only. just like you vehicle stores trouble codes for the tech to obtain info for locating system problems. Needs to be serviced.

As for the error code you are getting, "error 45" is a lens related problem of LS443.

If the lens is not stuck, you may try to download the firmware from the Kodak site and update the one in your camera.

As the lens is already stuck, there is no choice except to send the camera back to Kodak for servicing.

That is a lens error. Your warranty will not cover if you get an unauthorised KODAK TECH to repair this fault.

It may be something more serious, or your new batteries may be worn out, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion buildups may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera. Assuming that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, this takes care of about 90% of the startup problems. I hope it works for you.

The problem is.....When I want to do a picture....I dont see anything on the display......Just a black windows....But No problem to see any picture from the other Camera.

Regarding Error #45

Well Heero if you are the tech guy you say you are- and Kodak arn't helping you- this suggests a mainboard failure and the camera is not going to get repaired.
