Sonypsp psp was dropped and back door now jams when opening or closing. its hard to close and now it won't read any of the games or movies

If you will see inside the back door of your PSP you will get one spring which had been left it's original place otherwise check the portion which i had shown in red colour in back door image.

Something more than likely chipped off/broke from the impact of the drop. Have you tried opening the PSP? *Note - opening your PSP will void your warranty.

The magnetic weight thats mounted on top of the dvd drive on the inside has came loose and jamming the door. Also it wont read the discs if this happens. I repair drive issues in PS3 and 360's with 99% success

if your warranty is already voided then you could try openning up your xbox and then openning up your dvd drive and just see what its getting jammed up against

Psp wont read the disc unless you hold the door shut w/o ...

If you dropped it, then the reader may be a little messed up. If the case around the disc is popped open a little bit, closing it all the way might stop the disc from spinning, resulting in not reading the disc. The only thing I recommend is to contact Customer Support on the Playstation website. They might be able to help you fix the problem or have you send it in. www.playstation.com

Problem with umd door

i have the same problem, you should get a psp case and it will stay closed. Get the one were you could still play your psp. Get a clear case. I have a hard clear case that goes around my whole psp except for the buttons in the front. It keeps the umd cover closed

My psp umd door wont close properly, what is the problem

maybe something on the inside is moved because ive openened a psp before and the thing in the back of the screen is like a hook that holds the screen shut. or maybe the little thing in your umd door that holds that little closing thing broke off. u can solve this also by hacking your psp and running the games trough the M33 driver. =D

You want to make sure that there is nothing jamming it so that it can close. If there is something that you can get yourself then try to get it and see if it works if not as stupid as this sound you should try this. Use duct tape!!!
