Question about Nokia N80 Cellular Phone

White sreen!! iv had my n80 a while now and lately every time you go to use the phone the screen goes totally white and cannot see anything for ages untill the screen comes back on, at first it was the odd time and now its everytime you go to use it

    yup, have the same problem as thatico. my n80 i phone's screen also turned all white!!! please, please let me know how to correct this. at first, the screen turns white whenever i slide it up or down but then it goes back to the normal display after a few seconds. however, just a while ago the screen just turned all white. i have already turned it off and took out the battery and sim card. but when i turned it on again, the screen has remained white. please let me know what to do. thanks. leah

I think its the ribbon conecting the mainboard to the lcd screen as the phone still starts up and you can still use your phone apart from seeing what you are doing nokia n80 are renound for this problem

My friend has the same problem and she has had the phone for a while and its been through a lot ... i dont know if your phone is in good condition but i'd just take it to the phone store and tell them. You'll probably just get a new phone.

White screen are symptoms for Contact retailer. try to call 112 (emergency call) if its working, meaning it's LCD problem. If 112 working try to clean the terminal of LCD. IF this doesn't work consider replacing it.

The part that is bad is the Ribbon flex cable that geos from the main board to the LCD board. Over time the cable becomes chaffed and will lose continuity between the traces. It can be fixed with

Tessco Part #: GH97-07715A

It does need to be soldered on the LCD side.

white screen?? but still your phone boots fine?can you still receive call or text msg? if soo, your only problem is the lcd of your phone,

but if your phone freeze on white screen and didn't continue to boot up, try reformatting it

by

key combination which is used to hard reset the phone (similar to #*7370). It is useful in some cases, for example when the phone cannot reboot.

The trick is
Switch off the phone.
Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and ‘3′ button
While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone
When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons...

but all your data will lost

Display problem in Nokia N80
It's a problem with the wiring that connects the upper part of the phone to its lower part when you slide it up. The wiring apparently gets damaged easily and you need to have it replaced, the wiring only, not the phone. This has also happened to me and I sent my phone to a certified Nokia Service Center. They replaced the faulty wiring but since my phone was still under warranty, they did not charge me anything. Hope your phone is still under warranty. Good luck.
