Question about Samsung RB2155SH Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
Just go a used Samsung RB2155SH.... it cools to set temperature but the doesn't recognize that the temperature has gone up and needs to be unplugged and plugged in again to start cooling again. It seems to keep running for 6-10 hours before this happens though. There's got to be a known solution for this...

SOURCE: no cooling
I would first check the defrost timer...It may be stuck in defrost position and not advancing to the cooling mode, a common problem...There is a slot, clutched cut, to keep it from being turned in the wrong direction and if you can get to it, place a screw drive in the slot and turn it slowly until you hear a click and/or the compressor start...Some timers are located in back, some in front( bottom), and others inside the refrigerator close to the thermostat...If this does the trick a new timer may be in order, but often it may not happen again...I would replace it anyway to keep from losing food...If the compressor does not start, it may be a bigger problem and usally the overload, especially after a storm with a power off on situation..Overloads burn up from to much amp draw, starting, or trying to start the compressor to soon after it stopping...The compressor pumps up on one side and pulls in on the other creating a pressue difference that must equalize on the off cycle for the compressor to start again...If the off cycle is cut short, like a power off/on situation, the load is to much for it to start until the pressures equalize on the off cycle...Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Samsung RB1955SH
ok first thing is i need to figure out what your machine is doing so your saying you plug in the unit it goes down to the tempreture that your trying to reach and then it gets warm on both freezer and frigerator side correct. have you removed the rear panel to assure that you are not having a defrost problem inside the freezer? have you done continiuity test to the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater as well? Have you also assured that the fan inside the back wall of the freezer is working properly the tempreture in a machine is constantly fluctuating optimum tempretures for freezer are at 0 degrees and fridge are 38 the freezer is the only part that actually gets cold the fan inside the back wall of the freezer is what pushes the cold air into the fridge through a small door if the fridge is to cold then it has a damper control that shuts the door not allowing the cold air to go in if the freezer gets to cold that has a defrost heater if you would like to read more on how the defrost system works here is a link that will help you to understand how it works http://applianceoutletservice.com/appliance-care-tips/refrigerator-tips/refrigerator-defrost-system-information.htm i await your reply on the questions i have asked and likewise if you have any further questions please message me back with them and when our chat has concluded please remember to rank how this opinion has helped Thanks again Rick
