Acer AL2216WBD LCD Monitor Logo

Two monitors blank, but on

We have a dual monitor set up with two Acer widescreen monitors. When you turn the power on for them the Acer logo flashes on momentarily (but not as long as it had before) and then the monitors go black. The green power light stays on for the main monitor but now the other monitor light goes to the amber color. We can plug the cables for both monitors into other monitors and we can see both screen images just fine on the other monitors. When you move the cables back into the Acer monitors the image flashes on for about 2 seconds and then goes back to black. I don't think it's a graphic card issue since it works fine on other monitors, but we just can't seem to figure out what it could be. This is day three of the issue, and we were able to get them to stay on eventually after multiple on/off and plug/unplugging sessions but today they seem to be immune to that as well.

Same problem here. I turn it on, acer flashes, then the screen goes blank. The green power light stays on.

You more like have bad capacitors in the power supply. Open it up and look for capacitors with bulging tops. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

No signal issue

Sounds like you could have a capicitor problem, which is fairly inexpensive to have fixed - before going down that route - If you only connect up the suspect monitor to your PC and disable dual screen using the cables (power and signal) from the one that is working - does the same thing happen? if so then it's definately the monitior and most likely a capicitor.

No display. Acer logo flashes on and off

Now try taking that monitor to a different computer. Take it to a friends house or the office. Don't worry it won't harm there computer in any way. If it still doesn't work its the monitor.

Also, you may try lowering the resolution on the display settings. Do this by right clicking on a blank spot on the desktop and selecting display settings. Lower the resolution to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600. The reason for this is the current setting may be too high for the non-working monitor. Different monitors support different settings. They are not all equal, especially if one is older or newer.
