Lasonic dvd player

The dvd tray will not open when I push the open/close button. The unit thinks the tray has opened and a disk has been inserted. The unit worked fine 1 day, and 2 days later, it will not open. Thanks

The tray is either broken, or off track. You may be able to get it back on track by opening the cover and checking it out, but unplug it first, and only try this if warrantee is over and you're feeling brave...

SOURCE: dvd player tray keeps opening and closing.

The tray position switch is disconnected or bent from disassembly. I expect one plug wire is off when you put the unit back. The tray switch is mounted so the tray strikes the switch when fully in and fully out.

Open/Close disc tray, would not open

Hi,
your unit might have a child lock device.some units have this option.check the manual if you have one.if it dosen't there may be a fault with the open/close button.
tip

The CD/ DVD/ Blueray player tray keeps opening and closing!

First make sure the "Eject" button has not stuck while pushed-in. Clean the Tray window/opening and the inside of the front part of the tray. Then try to push the tray in a little bit when closed and drag it out while open! By the time dust gathers on the greasy tray rails resulting it not to open and close to the full extent. If it helps but the problem comes back, then you should open the box and clean the rails more thoroughly. Have a look at the switch that senses the tray state (open/closed) too. OBS! That is not the same as the "Eject" button! Switch placement is device model deppendant but it is usually placed on the stationary part of the disc-player unit under the front end of the tray in the middle!
Some units do eject a disk they don't recognize. That a player can't read a disk could be a result of incompatibility, dusty optical lens or faulty/old laser. You may clean the lens by using a "Cleaning disk" or blowing with an air spray(or a straw with your mouth) through the opening of the tray.
Good luck

My husband always operated the DVD player. He has died and now I'm at a loss what to do. I rented a DVD at the video store. I tried to put it into the tray on the DVD player. I had to pull the tray...

Hi, Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on. To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.
I will gladly answer your questions Best Regards Bruce

DVD side will not open, for the longest I could only get the DVD side to open if there was a disk in the slide yesterday the DVD side was closed with NO disk in it and now I can not open it

The DVD player in model DRC8295 uses a magnet to pull the Disc tray up into position. You can open up the front disc cover and push down slightly on the Disc tray and then push the open/close button to eject the tray. If this doesn't open the unit, you will have to unplug the unit and remove the cover. The cover is held in place by two silver screws on each side and five silver screws on the back of the unit. Once the cover screws have been removed, you can slide the cover towards the back halfway and then take the silver cover (held in place with two screws) off of the DVD player. Once the DVD cover is removed, insert a disc in the player and re-install the dvd cover and case cover. Plug the unit back in and eject and close the cover like normal. I have never tried to remove the magnet from the cover and checked to see if the DVD player still worked correctly. I have found it easier to just leave a Disc in it at all times. I leave a "Bad Disc" in mine and it opens/closes with no problems.

Tray will not stay closed

This fault usually happens if the disc being read is not compatible with the player's firmware.
If discs are burnt from a computer, or copies, this can happen.
Does it do this with all DVD's?
Are you using commercial retail DVD's?
Otherwise something else is telling the player 'No Disk'.
Try a disc-based lens cleaner as laser may be grubby.
Or the laser diode could be defective.

Tray confused

I have an LG DVD player and recorder model # RC7423W and i have a similar problem, when i open up the disk tray it displays open and the tray opens for 2 seconds only and then closes. when i press the open/close button to open it again it opens and never closes back with a "Disc Error" on display until i close it manually by pushing it back inside.
I cleaned it from dust many times and tried to reset it but no reset button. i just tried to unplug the wire and plug it back.
let me know if there is a way that i can reset the hardware or a solution to my problem. my system is around one year old

Locked dvd tray.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
