Re: I bought a samsung digimax 301 from a friend
No you wont be able to do that without software, you should have got a cdrom with the camera along with the usb lead.
Install the software and follow the instructions, you will then be able to transfer pictures to your pc.
You should not need any extra software in your WIN2K: Just plug in the USB cable and then power on the camera. Access the jpg picture files with the program: WINDOWS EXPLORER. Copy the jpg files from samsung digimax 301's "removable disk"'s Dcim and 100sscam sub directories and paste them to your C: drive. After copying, turn off the camera before unplugging the USB cable.
(In my older WIN98SE, I had to run the free USB WIN98 Mass Storage Driver utility: nusb23e.exe one time first in order to "see" digital cameras or "thumb drive" directories)

Insert your memory card into an USB memory card reader. Connect this
card reader into the USB port of your computer. The computer will see
the memory card as an external storage device, you can open the folder
and picture files on the memory and copy them to the C drive on your
Keep it simple- download vlc player which plays EVERYTHING. Plug in your camera to usb - start player - direct to usb device and play back.
That file you are looking for should be in your programs directory.
Another way of downloading images is to remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB card reader, then plug the card reader into the USB port on the computer. The computer will see this as an external memory device, you can then open the folder/s and copy the images to the computer.
the w376g phone will only let you download pictures in an email through the phones browser, the usb has been disabled for that function and also the bluetooth function will not connect to a computer as well, only handsfree setups.
You can just go to My computer>choose the drive your camera is connected to> open the folder >select all>copy>you will given a litttle window to choose the copying location>choose the one you want and click ok. This will copy the photos to a folder of your choice and leave them on the camera as well. You do not need software to do this.

I had the same problem with my 4Gb card that has 750 photos on it. I tried doing different things, however, it did not work. At last I took the card out and blew on its chips, gave it a good shake and put it back. Then, the miracle happened. It could read all my photos. I guess there was some dust that had accumulated on the chips at the back of the card. Hope it can help you, too.
There are lots of different USB cables, not a real standardized piece. Try the USB that came with the camera or buy one that has your model listed. I have many and they all are specific to their models, some charge but dont sync, while others sync but dont charge, and some just dont do anything.
