I took pics on vacation, now I want to put them on my computer. But I don't know how?? Do I need to download anything, or can I just plug in the usb cable and access that way. I have windows 2000.
No you wont be able to do that without software, you should have got a cdrom with the camera along with the usb lead. Install the software and follow the instructions, you will then be able to transfer pictures to your pc.
if you don't have a cdrom you can download the software from here, unzip it first, then install.

You should not need any extra software in your WIN2K: Just plug in the USB cable and then power on the camera. Access the jpg picture files with the program: WINDOWS EXPLORER. Copy the jpg files from samsung digimax 301's "removable disk"'s Dcim and 100sscam sub directories and paste them to your C: drive. After copying, turn off the camera before unplugging the USB cable.
(In my older WIN98SE, I had to run the free USB WIN98 Mass Storage Driver utility: nusb23e.exe one time first in order to "see" digital cameras or "thumb drive" directories)
