Hi, I have a Bosch model WFK 2401 circa 2001. Recently, the washing machine stops prematurely (maybe 10 mins from the very end), and the Rinse/Spin light and Door Locked light flashes back and forth and the time blinks 03 with 8 consecutive beeps. The owners manual says that when this happens to clean out the trap and pump, and when I followed that procedure, I did not find anything blocking the trap, or anything that might inhibit the machine from draining. To resolve the issue when it happens, I have to turn the machine off/on a few times and turn it to spin, and eventually I can get it to start up and spin (and drain), and thus finish the load. Any help with this problem would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I too had this intermittent problem with my Bosch. The repair people didn't seem to know what to look for until today. This service technician, unlike the others, noticed the soot and looked at the circuit board. He contacted the Bosch service center and was told it was probably a bad motor that had caused the circuit board to go bad and told him what to look for. Sure enough, that was the problem. Unfortunately, the previous technicians didn't do this while it was still under warranty for the electronics (5 years), so the cost to replace the motor and circuit board will be $770. I think I'll buy another machine.

This was always caused by a blockage of the pump. The water isn't able to be pumped out so the sequence stops rather than continuing with the wrong water still in the machine.
Our solution was to manually drain, then open the pump area and remove the coins that always were the cause of the blockage. Wish we could get our (grown) kids to stop putting pants with full pockets in the machine!
Of course, I am looking at this site today because the machine no longer turns the drum. A repairman visit resulted in the diagnosis that the power control module AND primary motor are burned out and need replacing, at an estimated $800.

I've had a WFK2401 since 2002. I have had this issue for years. I've manually drained this washer so many times the floor is warped from occasional spillage. 03, eight aggravating beeps that go on forever, nothing in the trap. The problem, in my case is in intermittent, averaging about one in four times. My electronically-fluent son suggested that the control board might be dirty so I disassembled the top and extracted the control board. There was obvious black soot on the components in the vicinity of the transformer. The soot was not contamination from the environment, the soot was from a component on the control board that "exploded". I had a serviceman in my home several months ago to repair another appliance. All he said about the Bosch was, "...just wait until you have to replace the control board". Part cost is about $300.

I don't understand this "solution" Could you please elaborate? Thanks.
Exact same problem with exact same soot marks around the tiny little transformer, obvious a week point on the control board but not clear if was the tramsformer or a diode nex to it,

Hi, read your posting here. I have WFK 2401 that stops during the wash cycle and gives the #3 alarm. Water stays inside. I took the machine apart, checked EVERY hose and all are clear. The pump also is clear and seems to function. During the alarm, if I turn the machine off, dial to drain, nothing happens. If I turn the machine off, wait an hour or more, I can dial to spin-and-rinse and the machine finishes the cycle! Sometimes, the pump will stop during the high-spin at 8 minutes left and leave water, and wet clothes, in the machine. But this morning ( after waiting the night) the pump ran during the whole spin cycle. It sounds electronic, but I'm not sure what device to clean or replace first. Any thoughts?
