Battery lock I broke the battery lock while trying to insert the battery. I brought it to a camera repair shop who said that they are encountering problems getting spare parts for this camera and especially a replacement lock. I live in Dublin can anybody recommend another camera repair shop that may locate or have the part. It is only 2 years old.

If you can’t find a fix there is a guy in South Carolina who sells good used parts. I bought a LCD from him for $39.00 and it works great. I think his email is [email protected]

Probably not. Parts for digi cameras are notorious for non availability The general feeling is it seems that among certain brands and model levels they are considered 'disposable' like computer parts, kettle and toasters. Adhesive or gaffer tape would seem to be the answer.

I have a Pentax ZX-m Auto with manual o/ride that has the mirror box that is not stuck but will not move down with the shutter..It stays in the closed position. I took it to the local camera shop &...

The problem with the mirror is 1 of 3 things, 1 mirror box is distorted from being dropped, 2 mirror motor striped teeth or burnt out, 3 batteries. Try fresh good quality batteries first, that fixes lots of problems in cameras. if its the mirror box or motor then its time to go camera shopping.
This camera came out in 1997 so is an old model. It was brought out as a very basic model, no frills. 1 hour of a camera tech's time is worth double what the camera is worth so dont even bother getting it repaired.

My Av100 digicam is always lowbat but the batteries i've inserted is full charge

Try to buy a new battery. If the problem still persist, there a hardware failure to your camera. Bring it to camera repair shop as soon as possible.

On attempted power-up, camera begins to start up, then gives off three beeps and shuts down.

Check your battery condition and see if its full charged. If you pass this step, check if the battery is seated correctly in its place. Try to power on the cam with a DC connection and see if its doing the same symptom. If after this step you encounter the same problem, get your card out and try to start it without memory card, If again the problem persists, try to check it at a professional repair shop for a possible defective board. I've brought a usb cable to charge this camera, and it still doesn't work. I've tried everything except a new battery. I dont wanna buy a batty and that isn't the problem

Did you try a charging cradle? If you know how to use a voltage meter you can check the battery yourself or have you local camera shop or battery shop such a as batteries plus check it for you.

Card error

1. Ensure batteries are fully charged.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine .
Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a
back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec ..
in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

Will not power on

It should power on using internal memory. Your problem is normally due to weak/dead batteries. Make sure that you have fresh batteries, or freshly charged batteries, installed. If changing the batteries out does not eliminate the problem, the camera is a likely candidate for the repair shop.

Flashing lights

This sounds similar to a problem I had. I brought the camera in under warranty and the repair shop fixed it. They shop text is cryptic.
Problem: Camera light keeps flashing, not charge
Solution: Troubleshoot to intermittent switch block control, replace with new one, test OK.
