Question about Compaq AMD Sempron160GB Desktop PC Bundle with CRT Monitor and Speakers (CPQSR1711NXBEL428A)
Okay, I am a computer geek myself, I'm pretty tech savvy so what ever information you give me I will probably understand it. The thing is, I have a Compaq Sempron that gets to be quite a pain sometimes. Anyways, some nights I'll be sitting on the internet or something, and then VSSSHHHH!! I'll look down and the CD-ROM drive will be open at random. It's really creepy, but it does it a lot. I don't mind that it comes open as much as the fact that it won't close easily. I can push it shut...and then I'll hear this idiotic, grinding/squealing noise, and then it will shoot back open again. It does this sometimes when its opened voluntarily by me as well (won't shut). Any suggestions? I thought that it might be an I/O conflict or something. Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks
If your computer is running kind of sluggish, you can fix it with an easy clean up of your registry. Here's a link to a free scan that works well:

I've used this one and it sped up my computer by quite a bit. Hopefully this helps.

It's a sign that your cdrom itself is failing, it normally happens on boot up, when the drive will automatically open by itself. It is the drive/firmware; as the drive no longer responds correctly to open or cl;ose commands.
