Hi,I need a cable with UBS fitting to download my data from Canon pal MV800i camcorder (mini digital video cassette). I have the original cable which was suitable for my old PC (IEEE1394 (DV) however my new PC does not have a corrisponding port for the cable. What can I do or where in Rep. of Ireland can I source a suitable cable.Regards,Patrick Farrell.

I suggest getting the PCI IEEE 1394 also known as FireWire card. Most of the time these Firewire card comes with a Video editing software but verify because you will need some form of video editing s/w to record the video. After recording then you can edit it however you like and transfer to DVD/etc. Always a pain in the as to edit video. I've done it a couple of times. So have fun. I still have not manage to find a Video editing s/w that will do a 5.1 audio or multiple audio tracks (similar to switching between languages)

Try ejecting cassette whilst powered from AC Adaptor. Secondly, try operating Eject from powered off mode. If operation LED starts flashing after any of these attempts, the mechanism is probably jammed or has become mis-timed. Unfortunately this requires professional intervention to avoid further damage to your equipment.
I hope this information is of assistance!
