You can try to reset it back to factory by removing the printhead and all cartridges.
Power off the unplug from wall for 30 min.Reverse procedure and see what happens.
From what I am reading is the carriage will not lock on the left!
Correct?
Try this and let us know.

My Canon MP610 have an error 6A00 what does it mean pls help.

It means the cartridge mechanism is jammed. It could be caused by dried ink, dried gear fluid or a paper jam. Open up the printer and give the cartridge holder a little nudge. If you see any foreign objects eg. shreds of paper inside, remove it.

Error code 5010 and 5C20

on't know this error code, but this info might help
With thanks to a canon tech Ok Well again I will repeat this answer with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

Had paper jam. removed paper, now getting 11 flashes, but cannot clear error as per manual instructions. getting service error 6A00.

I have the Canon Pixma iP4000R printer. I had an error code of 6A00 and my power light was blinking/flashing green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange (12 oranges).

I tried the “waste ink counter reset reset” procedure: Power on while holding the stop/reset button and pushing the service button twice, then pushing the stop/rest button 4 times to clear the error, but that didn’t work.

My ink cartridge carrier wasn't moving-staying in the center. I thought I had a paper jam.

I looked at a few blogs about my error on other Canon Pixma models and they kept talking about “sponges”.

The following is what I discovered that cleared my error and now my printer is back to printing!

The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. I was looking for a softer material like the long thin gray foam strip material in my printer. The 2 "sponges" on my Pixma iP4000R were next to each other-one was rectangular and one was square-like. Originally they were white but the ink made them black/navy.

The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".

I didn't see the sponges at first, as there was a white backwards “L” shaped plastic piece that had a spring attached to it(purge unit). The “L” shaped piece was moved forward out of its place. I used my pen tip and pushed that piece back and found that the rectangular "sponge" had popped out of its place.

I used a pen tip popped both “sponges” out and rinsed them with water and voila they were once again white. I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.

My error is gone and I can print again!
