Question about Welbilt MR670TB Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Touchpad the touchpad in my "welbilt microwave oven, model 6500T (220V)" does not function. Some buttons - only with numbers, ex. 7, 8, 9, 0, - do (clicking sound is heard) but yhe oven cannot start. I have never spread any cleanser neither over the pad or inside and generally always have much care when using it and handling. I used it for many years (10). Can it be used up?

Only some of the buttons on the Hotpoint microwave oven RVM143wk01 work. Could be a bad keypad or touchpad. How much does it cost to replace keypad?

Sounds like your keypad is worn out, if you are able, this is most likely to be a modular part and could be replaced, (if you can find a replacement) the buttons are made of a thin deformed conductive sheet which makes contact when pressed to a flat layer underneath (seperated by an insulative layer) this flexable condictive layer becomes brittle with use and over time the edges of the flexable zones split. once that happens the button doesn't work you should be able to get a replacment keypad tho, or canabalise a dead one for the replacement keypad have fun :)

Not all buttons work on touchpad

There will be a problem with the touchpad membrane, usually this is usually repaired by replacing the complete touchpad facia or front control panel.

Power cuts off when starting oven or micro

see the diagram attached and fix it. God bless you

  1. Main control boardIf your microwave runs for a few seconds and stops, the first thing to check is the main control board to ensure that a shortage has not occurred. If the part is defective then it will need to be replaced to prevent continual shut offs. If this is not the issue, the next step would be to check for a faulty touchpad.
  2. Touchpad/Control panelIf the control board is not the issue and your microwave continues to shut off after running for only a few seconds, the next thing to check is your touchpad, which is also known as a control panel. Although uncommon for this issue, symptoms are usually that the display and some buttons are working properly; however, when selected some buttons are not functioning. If this is the case the touchpad will need to be replaced.

Need manual

The part numbers were MW-9999-04 OR IB-MR95TW but they are shown to be no longer available.

However, one dealer lists it as being available here.

Good luck.

MR 522W Welbilt microwave oven

While, the original part number was MW-4000-08, to my knowledge, parts are generally no longer available for Welbilt microwaves. The good news is that this knob should be for a standard 1/4" shaft with a flat side, and appliance parts stores, home centers, and home improvement stores will have a good selection of knobs. If you take your old one, you should be able to get help matching it so it will function for you. Good luck.
