Hi Kent here... I was facing the similar prob as Shants with I/O prob. I sent in to Samsung Customer service, they found nothing. At last I check into the USB cable. If the both end resistance > approx. 3.5 ohms the data scanning I/O error with prompt spontaneously. I got another USB cable with ~1.1 ohm which works perfectly. Samsung's design is too sensitive to the USB cable resistance. Please check it out. Kent Tan's Email: [email protected]
What age is is the scannr? There can be an issue with 95/98/ME vintage scanner sand running in 2000/XP This is to do with the scanner processor[it controls what the scanner does], Older machines work to DOS commands and an XP computer is sending NTFS commands. There is no remedy- except to replace the scanner.
OK so we have the 'Old Scanner issue out of the way.
Now put in the CD and browse the disk and tell me what folders are on it- We are lookng dor drivers or a folder called XP.
What operating sys on Lappie?
What operating sys on Desktop?
OK-On the laptop
Did you install whilst on line or with the A/V program active?
Suggest you totally remove the software from the lappie and a disc clean up- then with the machine off line and the A/V disabled install again
Then come back
Only somne one with a eter couls tell you that.
But if the USB cable is a potential problemachine come with the cable you are using./
Can you go to a PC store and check the spec of cables on display?
