first sold with windows 2000, is that what this runs?
yes there are hidden screws. (under cd lip,removed, in battery well) but in most cases the keyboard must come off first., but why?
what PASSword, BIOS PW or windows. login?
the manual covers this, (screws thing) and the manaul shows
resets if present, most times there are non in any laptop.
first is RTM not rip it apart and break fragile cables connectors.

the coin cell is dead,
the word jump is not in the manual, there is 1 sleep pushbutton on this, paperclip used.

in some cases for sure old PCs, the
RTC coin cell that is bad this old by the way , you remove it and the passwords are cleared.
on desk tops this old it had jumpers,but you don't have a DT.

this steps, can work on the old PCs laptops made by HP
remove all big batteries first
main and the optional expansion bay battery lartge.
the AC line pack removed, unplug it.
then find the RTC coin cell. remove it. this tiny battery , and is bad now,
then let it set with no power for 1/2 hour, even push the sleep button with a paper clip on this side,
now a new coin cell put in,
and undo the above, and bingo, ?
