If you forget your password, simultaneously press and hold the MENU/
OK button on the front panel and VOL- button on the remote for three
seconds. This resets the password and unlocks the TV.

Master password for what?? If the bios or windows has a password then it was set by someone after purchase, as far as i can tell there is no default password for the bios on this computer, and the windows password would be whatever someone set it to.
Unless you set a master DriveLock password to reset it with, then (according to HP at least) the hard drive will be rendered completely unusable. I think your best bet would be to try and get your kids to give you the password.

I'm not calling you a thief, but 99% of the time when there is a computer that has a lock on the Hard Drive and the person in possession of the computer don't know the password, the computer is stolen. The Hard Drive Password is put on to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. It could be set by the real owner remotely once they realized the system was missing.

If someone changed your password and you don't know the password, go to
"System Settings">"Restore Default Settings"
This doesn't delete anything from your memory stick.
Call the company, they usually have a back door route. We had a nice Viewsonic 42" LCD TV at work and they had us push something like vol + power to remove password, then we could put in a new password.
