I have a Samsung AC07 which was working fine up until 2 days ago. Now, I try to turn it on and get nothing - the screen remains as lifeless as when the power is off. When using the remote, the light on the control panel on the tv lights up, suggesting that batteries are fine, etc. I have checked the connections - they all seem fine. Any ideas from that description of where the problem may lie?

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I just moved and set up my Samsung 40" LCD and it has been going off and on by itself with the worst yesterday every 2-3 minutes. After speaking with a friend of mine who is not in the Tv business but just has good common sense, I determined it was likely a bad power strip. The bottom line is I replaced the crappy power strip (which was fully loaded with all 6 outlets in use) with the higher quality one I had in the other room. The problem is gone. I suspect the power strip was failing or real bad quality........try plugging the tv directly into the wall outlet first. hope this helped.

After about 5 years the Samsung LCD televisions backlight fails which prevents the TV from coming on and the powerlight just flickers the backlight can be changed but it is often alot easier and cheaper to buy a new Television

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

Howdy,
It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.
Thanks for using FIXYA, big IRISH.
