I dropped my DS Lite and one side of the hinge broke loose. A small cylindrical piece fell out and I can't get it back together again. I don't want to force it and create a bigger problem. Fortunately, it still works but I'm afraid the other side will break if I don't get it back together again. Thanks Y'all!
The only way you can repair this properly is to replace the casing with a new one... the hinge is a common problem and over 90% of my customers on the DS and DS Lite need a new case due to broken hinges. Once the plastic bit has broken then it will only get worse. The small bit that you say fell out was the actual hinge itself (a small black part with a silver end that twists and locks your console into place when open). Hope that helps!
