No sound on my fujitsu 50" plasma TV

Do I need external speakers for this TV? I am getting no sound after I hooked it up to my cable box. I had sound when before I moved to this new house. If there should be sound without extra speakers, how do I troubleshoot it?

HDMI carries both video and audio.
Do you get video and audio on TV. Just to be sure.
Now are the external speakers powered ?
are you connecting the Speakers to Audio Out of the TV ?
By the way, I cannot see any RCA port that is output port on your NEC plasma. NEC 50XM4 User Manual Specifications The audio input is for audio from dvd for example.

Cables to link LG Plasma with Panasonic around sound system

I would have to see the sound system you are hooking into. The way to get audio is to hook it direct from your cable/satellite box to the stereo. There is no need to go to the TV for audio.

Hook up sound bar to zenith plasma tv

If the sound bar has the red and white cable then yes you can use those. Make sure in your settings for the TV you have it set for an external audio source. Since you don't want to use the built in speakers. Probably best to get a tuner if using multiple speakers and a sub.

I just got a new power supply installed in my Fujitsu 50in. Plasma P50XHA4OUS and cannot get the sound to work, we've tried everything, please HELP!

Assuming the power supply is exact replacement and you did not have this before--check the speakers to make sure not turned off.

If using a cable or sat box make sure sound not way down or off both with the set and the box.

Last but not least if sound is there with a DVD---something somewhere is set to wrong position.

Does say a dvd player give sound when connected to the same input? If you have determined that the source is good and the speakers are turned on in the menu then I would replace the main board.

Ok, I need more verifications:
1) Your TV is Fujitsu Siemens PlasmaVision P42VHA40 Monitor which does not have tuner? If not, please provide the make and model of the TV.

2) What kind of cables you are using to hook between the cable box and the TV? HDMI? Component video (Red, Blue, and Green cables withe RCA plugs)? Composite video cable with Yellow RCA plugs?

3) Are you trying to get the sound to come out off the TV speakers or through the stereo system?

OK ~ try this... Connect a makeshift antenna to your Antenna proper connection/connector.

Almost anything somewhat large, flat and is metal should work OK... Even a length of old lamp cord may work too! Hopefully you are in range of at least ONE standard HDTV DIGITAL broadcast transmitter(s) "over the air".

IF your audio is now OK suspect that CABLE BOX!

And how about your DVD player? Is your audio and video good using it?

Plasma sound problems

Sounds like the TV volume is set too high, with little or no audio input.
If the sound is coming from the speakers and you are using an external input such as a cable box you may need to turn up the volume output from the box, and turn the TV volume down.
